Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
I have used silver, blue and dark blue shades for the bead embellishment and silver and dark blue glitter metallic threads for the stitching.
I decided to use sequins in place of the spacers to reduce the bulk for posting purposes.
To attach the beads I have used the silver thread double, as the metallic beads sometimes cut the threads. I completed all the stitching before attaching the beads and followed the stitching guide completing a set from the outside working towards the centre each time, using the dark blue metallic thread.
The tiny 6 point stars I have stitched in the silver metallic thread.
To complete the beading, I attached the 18 large 7mm rice beads first, then the 8 central 3mm silver metallic round beads.
In the centre of this circle of 8 round beads, I have attached a silver sequin and a tiny dark blue seed bead.
The 6 point silver stars each have a tiny white glass seed bead attached in the centre.
I then completed the rest of the beading using a further 24 silver sequins, 6 tiny white glass seed beads, 6 tiny dark blue seed beads,12 round 4mm clear glass beads, and 12 round 4mm silver beads.
The pale blue snowflake backing sheet is from the Christmas bundle and cut at 12.5 x 15.5cm and attached to a dark blue snowflake card from the same bundle.
I have attached some peel off sentiments to the finished card front and used the same pale blue snowflake background for the insert.
This design is beautiful when finished and the time to complete this project is well worth the effort. Pamela Horton. The whispering Platypus.
