This is a delightful design for an early spring card. We know spring is on the way here in Australia when the wattle begins to flower. I originally cut the card to use to and then stitch this design at, 15 x 12cm. However, I later reduced this size before putting all the elements together. I have used an ivory card that has an all over delicate swirl pattern, as the backing for the stitching and beading work. To complete the stitching and beading, I used green polyester and yellow polyester thread. To complete the beading, I used 38 tiny 2mm green pearl round beads, 12 iridescent green 8mm rice beads, 30 iridescent green 5mm rice beads,26 gold glass 2mm seed beads and 17 yellow 3mm seed beads. The total number of beads used is 123. I completed the green stitching and then all the yellow stitching, by following the instructions on the sheet as a guide, and then began to attach the beads. I stitched the 33 tiny 2mm green pearl round beads in the half circle, using the green thread. And still using the green thread, I began to stitch 8 of the 8mm rice beads to the lower end of the largest leaf spray, and then the next 7 smaller rice beads, finishing at the top with 2 more larger 8mm beads, and the next 2 beads are the 5mm rice beads, and then 2 small green pearl round beads at the very top of the spray. The next 2 sprays are also stitched with the green polyester thread. The smaller spray has 7 of the 5mm rice beads and 2 of the green pearl round beads. The middle sized spray has 14 of the 5mm rice beads and one of the tiny green pearl round beads. I used the yellow polyester thread to attach the beads inside the yellow blossoms. The blossoms around the half circle have 4 tiny 2mm gold glass seed beads, and 3 tiny 3mm yellow seed beads. The smallest spray of wattle blossom has 12 tiny seed beads attached, 7 gold glass and 5 yellow seed beads. The largest wattle blossom spray is completed with the same beads, using 15 gold glass seed beads, and 9 of the yellow seed beads. I then cut this stitched card to measure 12.5 x 11cm and coloured the edges with an emerald green pen. I made a bright yellow backing sheet, which measures, 13 x 12 cm, and coloured the edges with a green pen, before attaching it to the stitched and beaded card topper, with padded D.S. tape. I printed a wattle blossom backing sheet onto 200gsm card, and cut it at 15 x14cm. I used an 18cm length of 2.5cm wide green organza ribbon to attach vertically to the centre front of this wattle blossom backing sheet. I took the tails around to the back and secured them with power tape. I attached a tiny 9 cm doily to the left hand corner using white glue, allowing 1.5cm to overhang at the left and the bottom of this backing sheet. I used a 20cm length of the same organza ribbon, to attach horizontally across the front at the middle point of the doily, and attached the tails at the back as before. I made a textured camel coloured card, cut at 30cm x 16cm. I coloured all the edges with a gold metallic glitter glue pen and then scored and folded it. I then attached the completed topper using D.S padded tape. I made a onestep bow and attached it using power tape, to the top of the horizontal ribbon on the very left of the card. I made some yellow wattle blossom, by using 3 tiny round firm 5mm firm cotton pads to roll onto bright yellow cream chalk until completely covered, and then to dab them with the gold glitter glue pen, to make them sparkle. These wattle blossoms, I attached, when completely dry, using 3 tiny drops of white glue and allowing drying time again. I am so pleased with the outcome, and I am extremely happy about the extra time I spent making this card. Thank you Emy for offering this design for sale, I am delighted with my purchase
