Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
A Beautiful and easy to follow design, with clear instructions for placement of both beads and stitching.
I chose a pink and purple theme and began with pricking the pattern onto a pink card, and completed all the stitching before adding the beads
I used the following materials to complete the project.
A pale leaf green, pure cotton single thread for all the leaves
A deep purple, single thread of polyester sewing cotton for one flower and 2 different shades of mauve embroidery floss, again using only, a single thread, for the next 2 flowers.
I completed the scallop section next using a gold metallic thread and a pale mauve, polyester thread together. The photograph doesn't give justice to the glow the scallop has, as a result of using the gold thread.
For the beading, I used the following.
12 x 3mm, pearlescent purple glass beads
3 x pink glass seed beads
25 x 7mm, glass purple tube beads
8x 7mm, glass pink tube beads.
I have included 2 extra photographs which clearly show the placement for the beads I chose.
As the tube beads were glass and clear, I used the dark purple thread to attach every one.
The lace effect is 2 overlapping and trimmed 10 cm diameter doilies
The purple backing sheet is 13 x 15.5cm
The white backing sheet is 16 x 13.5cm and the card is the same pink as the stitching card and is cut at 28 x 17cm
The ribbon is a mauve satin 2.5cm wide and the bow is made from the same ribbon.
There is a photograph to explain how I threaded the ribbon through the card.
However here is what I did.
I measured in 3cm from each top edge and using a craft knife, cut down 2.5cm. I then measured in 3.2cm and cut down again to meet the same distance of 2.5cm. I did not cut this strip off, but folded it to the back to hold the ribbon firm. I the curved top edge I drew and cut carefully with tiny scissors.
The sentiment is made from tiny peel off alphabet letters, I had coloured with a purple alcohol pen, like wise the small bow and tiny glitter hearts.
I am thrilled with the result , it has made me look like an expert.
Than You Emy for this beautiful design.
