Stitching with beads, mandala, any occasion

Emy van schaik has displayed this completed design using the stitching in muted red and blue hues to high light the different blocks of stitching.
This helps to clearly show the way the stitching is worked. I have chosen 4 different shades of blue embroidery floss to work the project.
The first attempt, I have used as part of the insert, I began working from the centre outwards and found I had not quite mastered the stitching challenge.
I have then worked using the palest shade of blue starting from the sets of 12 outside long stitches. I next used the one shade darker blue to complete the outside crescent shapes.
To complete the star shaped points I have used the palest of the dark blue embroidery floss and for the inner beautiful star shape I have used one shade darker in the blue embroidery floss.
I have used 48 pearl blue seed beads on the edges of the 8 sets of 12 long stitches. I have been unable to purchase rice beads in silver or blue at the moment and have used groups of 5 beads in their place.
This group, consisting of a total of 40 beads, each has 3 matching pearl blue seed beads in the centre and a pearl white seed bead at each end.
I have left the central position for the spacer and the bead open. I used a backing sheet to attach to the back using red power tape to secure the work.
This was worked at the actual size offered with the sheet using 170gsm satin finished white card cut at 14cm square, after securing the stitching, I defined the edges using a blue metallic pen, secured the ribbon at the back, leaving the tails to wrap around the then attached 15.5x14.5 cm blue backing sheet.
The main card is 200gsm Crafty Bob Matte photo paper cut, scored and folded to make the 17 x 15cm card front.
I have added peel off gems the matching bow, the sentiment I have written, an embroidery floss bow and a blue flower button to complete the embellishments for the topper.
The insert is blue paper cut to size with the partially finished stitched pattern, a single tied knotted ribbon bow and a peel off sentiment.
I want to hand write my personal thank you and so have the left the right section of the insert blank.
This is a project not to be hurried as it has its own challenge, but certainly well worth the choice of purchase.
