Stitching with beads

I have had a most enjoyable relaxing evening last night stitching these 2 designs. They are so easy and so quick to complete, and now I have 2 beautiful completed thank you cards. I used the same pink 120gsm card to stitch both designs. The aqua design card, I cut at 12 x 8cm. I used aqua polyester thread for the main stitching and copper metallic thread for the central lattice style stitching. I found it easier to begin with the lattice stitching as the main lines actually need to outline this oval shape. The beads I attached when I had completed all the stitching lines. I used 6 round 4mm glass aqua beads, 1 pearl gloss finished 7mm rice bead and 2 aqua stone tulip shaped beads, each with a tiny deep sea coloured seed bead attached at the top. I made a rose in an aqua ribbon to match this set of beads and stitching shades. I made the main card using a delicate pink print onto both sides of an A4, 120gsm white card and cut it at 15 x 21cm, and then scored and folded it. I made 3 backing sheets. The largest is white and edged with a copper coloured metallic pen. It measures 14 x 10cm and has the pale aqua backing sheet which is also edged with the copper pen attached using D.S. tape. I attached a ribbon horizontally 2cm up from the bottom of the white backing sheet and secured the ribbon at the back before attaching these backing sheets to the card front. I made a darker shade of pink backing sheet cut at 13 x 9cm to attach to the back of the completed topper using D.S. tape. Before attaching this to the card front I attached the copper peel off strips. I used a butterfly from a previous purchase, Butterfly Cut Outs 5, cup482564_466 and I coloured in copper, a thank you peel off strip and tiny butterfly. For the insert I used another of the butterflies from the previous purchase, and wrote the verse, added some ribbons, butterflies, some peel off strips and another thank you, all in copper tones.
The second card in this set of 2, I completed in all purple and mauve tones. The pink card is cut at 13x 9.5cm. I used a water colour purple pencil to colour and smudge the edges. The thread is metallic purple for all the lines and curves, and for the star shapes I used mauve cotton thread. I used 2 glass kite shaped 8mm faceted beads, I used 6 tiny purple iridescent seed beads , 1 round 5mm faceted purple iridescent bead and 3 round 5mm glass pearl purple beads. I used a colour coordinated butterfly from the same set as the first card. I then attached some peel off jewels and drew the extra feelers. I wrapped a very pale mauve 1cm wide satin ribbon around the bottom section of the card topper 1.75cm up from the bottom. I made the main card in a deep rose pink, cut at 24 x 15.5cm. I attached a gloss purple backing sheet cut at 14.5 x 11 to the next backing sheet which is the same delicate pink print as I had used in the previous card, which Measures 14 x 10.5cm. I lined up the horizontal length of the same mauve ribbon with the piece attached to the topper, and then attached them all together and onto the card front. I used the peel off jewel strips to place around the edge of the purple backing sheet. I tied the horizontal top ribbons together with a length of the same ribbon to give extra tails to the simple bow I had made and then attached using power tape. The insert has a sheet of the delicate pink print as the main backing sheet, I have used the same verse and added a butterfly, and a purple coloured peel off sentiment.
I am ever so pleased with the results of these 2 stitching cards. I will be able to use the pattern many times over, and as they were so quick to complete, the pattern is a wonderful standby to suit so many occasions even an emergency or urgent card to suit that forgotten or instant need to fulfil.
