I decided to do something a little different as the design made me think of cute little critters, and I am very pleased with the outcome of the completed project.
I have used black metallic thread for the facial features and the centre star shape, white embroidery floss for the face outline and the body patch, and soft purple embroidery floss for the feelers and body outline.
The12cm square backing for the design is soft dusty pink, the next 13cm square backing sheet is musk and white in a zig zag design and the largest deeper pink 13.5 cm square backing sheet completes the topper.
All backing sheets and the main 14.5cm square textured pale pink card front, have the edges defined with an orchid pink permanent pen and are matted together using D.S. tape.
I have used oval gems as embellishments. The critters are coloured using wet and dry pencils to give them some definition and the happy birthday sentiment is attached using padded D.S. squares.
It has made a most amusing look to a very easy design.
I really enjoyed spending the time to work out how to put this together, so thank you Diana for this delightful pattern.
