I have made 2 greeting cards today from this one sheet, provided by Nick Bowley, by printing the sheet provided 3 times onto light weight card at 25.4 x 20.3cm and once at 17.8 x 12.7cm.
The first card is made as a birthday greeting with the main white gloss card measuring 27 x 17cm, then scored and folded before attaching the 2 backing sheets.
The 16.5 x 13cm bottle green backing sheet is attached to the card front using D.S. tape and the 16 x 12.5cm pale green vellum is attached using tape roller glue.
I have then used the decorative white peel off strips on all 4 vellum edges.
I used the main image of pink shaded birds as the main backing sheet. I used the second copy of this image to cut away and discard the outer lace green edged section and attached this to the main image using padded D.S. tape.
I used paper backed lace to attach across 2.5cm up from the lower edge and secure at the back of the main image.
I then used the green gingham ribbon to attach across the lace and secure it at the back of the main image.
I have used D.S. tape to attach this section of the topper to the card front.
I have used the third copy of the pink shaded birds to remove and keep the central section of the image and attached it using padded D.S. tape.
I attached the ribbon on which I tied the tiny bow and attached it 2cm in from the left hand edge and over onto the inside of the main white gloss card using roller tape glue.
To complete the insert, I have used cup814313_79993, Christmas Lace Effect, a backing sheet designed by Clare Walker, to print and cut at 27 x17cm and attach to the inside of the card, covering the tails of the green gingham ribbon, using roller tape glue.
I have used the smaller copy of the pink birds to then attach onto the left hand side of the insert.
I have printed the verse, I have chosen from the free verse section, onto the green vellum and attached it onto the right hand side using the roller tape glue.
I have made 2 small backing sheets using the bottle green and the vellum to attach a birthday sentiment and attached this sentiment to the card front.
I have made the second card as a sympathy card, and have used much the same technique and padded D.S. tape to attach the 3 different sections of the image together and onto the white backing sheet cut 0.5cm wider at the sides and the top, to mirror the shape of the main image.
I have then used the same paper backed lace to frame 3 sides of the topper and attached this using D.S. tape.
The main card is Crushed paper Effect-Khaki, cup966501_21027 printed onto A4, 120gsm white card, cut to then measure 28 x17cm and scored and folded before attaching the completed topper to the card front.
I have used a decorative gold peel off strip onto the white backing edges and added a sentiment. I have completed the insert by adding the smaller image of the matching birds onto a white backing sheet and onto the left hand side of the insert.
I have not added the verse as yet, as thankfully, I do not have a reason to use this greeting card.
Note- The paper behind the cotton lace ribbon I have used has an iridescent pearl finish and so gives the lace a beautiful glow.
