This beautiful set of 2 rose toppers by Ceredwyn Macrae are stunning images, with such universal use, as either birthday, Mothers’ Day, Special friend, get well, even Sympathy greeting or special occasion greeting cards.
I printed the sheet provided twice onto 170gsm white card.
I made the teal blue rose topper into a white based rectangle 12.5 x 15cm sized card front and defined all the edges with a teal coloured metallic pen before completing the topper.
I have made a teal blue large white spot backing sheet and insert sheet to use. The main backing sheet is 14.5 x 11.5cm and is 2 toned using the teal spot and white joined together at 9.5cm.
I have used the broader tip of the teal pen to define the edges of this backing sheet. I have then attached the silver ribbon across the join and secured the tails at the back. This backing sheet is then attached using D.S. tape.
I have made a larger pale teal coloured textured backing sheet to attach to the back of the main image, using D.S. tape and used padded D.S tape to attach this to the card front.
I have used the image from the second copy to cut out the 3 teal roses and used padded D.S. squares to attach this to the card front.
I coloured the sentiment with the teal pen and tied and attached the bow and used silver glitter glue to enhance the roses.
I allowed this to dry while I completed the insert.
I have used the teal blue , white spot insert I have made to trim to fit the inside of the card and attached a small photo image of the completed topper onto the top of the insert and attached a silver bow along the edge of the verse I have chosen from the free verse section.
The topper which has 3 gold roses, I have made into a 15x15cm square card front using a pink, small white spot main card.
I have used Crafty Bob 200gsm white card to make the main card and scored and folded it before attaching the completed backing section of the topper.
I have used a very pale pink lace printed paper to cut out the 14 cm high x 10.5cm wide oval backing sheet and attached the main image centrally onto this backing sheet and attached the green ribbon across the front 5cm up from the lower edge and used D.S tape to attach this section to the pink spot backing sheet securing the tails at the back, before using D.S. tape to attch this to the card front.
I used the second copy of the sheet provided to cut out the gold roses and some of the green leaves and included the bud.
I have attached this to the card front using padded D.s. tape and added glitter gold dust onto the faces of the roses.
I have tied the green ribbon bow and attached it and the sentiment as extra embellishments. I made a pink and white spot insert sheet to attach into the centre of the open card, with a blank verse section in the landscape position and attached a tiny green bow and a small photo image of the card front.
I love working with Ceredwyn’s beautiful floral topper designs, as I love making cards with a point of difference and decoupage I can make gives such dimension to the finished card.
I will be able to use this design so many times. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
