5x7 Card Topper and Decoupage 19th Birthday Basketball Theme Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This is a card for a friend whose nephew is turning 19 next month. His passion is basketball, and if my friend likes the card it will have a new home.

I think it is bright and self- explanatory with all the features a 19 year old would like, but without being soppy and over the top.

I printed the sheet provided onto CB matte 280gsm white card and used an orange permanent pen to outline the edges.

I used D.S regular tape to attach each of the backing sheets. The first is a white backing sheet which measures 10.5 x 8.5cm.

The next backing sheet is a textured black card which measures 11.5 x 9.5cm, and the orange backing sheet measures 14 x 10.5cm.

I used the same orange pen to colour the edges of this orange backing sheet, as it is a core card and the white inside often spoils the look of the finished card.

I attached gold peel off strips to the black backing sheet in line with the outside edge of the white backing sheet, and also attached the same gold peel off strips to the outside edge of the black backing sheet.

I then attached this topper to the black textured card front which measures 15.5 x 12cm. I cut out the smaller elements and then used small padded D.S. squares to attach the 19, the HOOPY and the NEPHEW into position on the card front.

I then used many peel off gold stars in different sizes and styles, randomly, across the whole card front. I used a matching orange backing sheet as the insert, and added some peel off stars on the left hand side and from the item cup846611_9035 I attached the verse 4b to the right hand side.

This has made a very bright cheery card, and is most suitable for all basketball enthusiasts as there are so many choices of sentiment tags.
