I have been able to use this delightfully cute design by, Stephen Poore, to make several Christmas greeting cards. I have featured 2 of them here as examples.
I printed the sheet onto A4 white 170gsm satin finished card three times, so I would be able use decoupage to give extra definition to the cute penguins.
The first 23 x11.5cm white main card is scored and folded before attaching the 11cm square, backing sheet, cup814313_7993, Christmas Lace Effect in the pale green hue, which is a design by Clare walker and has the edges defined using a soft green metallic permanent pen.
I cut out from each of the sheets, image number 5, which is the wide-eyed flipper waving penguin image. I separated the single image of the penguin from one sheet and saved the outer frame to use as part of the insert.
I used the second copy to cut out and retain the complete image, keeping a scant 1mm white edge.
I attached this onto the 9.75cm wide x 9.5cm high light card and defined the edges using the same metallic pen, and before I attached this to the card front, using D.S. tape, I attached and wrapped around the red gold edged ribbon and the coloured gems.
I used the third image to cut out the central white decorate frame, retaining the tree and the penguin.
I attached this to the card front using padded D.S. tape I attached the ribbon using red power tape, the extra single penguin using Padded D.S. tape, and the peel off gold sentiment is added as extra embellishment.
I have used the original retained frames as part of the insert, a verse from the free verse section the number 6 wide-eyed penguin and some peel off embellishments.
I have finished the card front using a small fine brush and gold Dust Glitter effects around the white edges of the card and the gold edged white frame The second card, using the number 4 image of the wide-eyed penguin with the green head phones, I have finished, is slightly smaller, measuring 20.5 x11cm, and is scored and folded before attaching the 2 coloured jade green and red backing sheet and the gold peel off decorative strips.
I used one full image as the next backing sheet and wrapped the gold lace ribbon around before attaching it to the card front using D.S. tape.
I used padded D.S. padded tape to attach the little penguin and attached the red gem and the gold bow which is threaded through the horizontal ribbon.
I have used the same Number 6 penguin as part of the insert for this card and a gold peel off Christmas tree.
I have finished this card front using the same gold dust and brush to decorate the penguin’s tummy the decorative main backing sheet, the tree and penguin’s cheeks.
I have made multiple use of each of the images in the same manner and have added 6 extra beautiful and cute Christmas cards to my slowly growing list to post.
These are the perfect size, as they will attract and so accumulate extra postage costs. Thank you. Pamela Horton.
