Cheerful Christmas Snowman TopperCompleted by Stefanie Mohrmann
OccasionI loved how this design combined glittery and rustic elements.
I exchanged the English sentiment for a German one - much simpler than the original, but chosing a font that would go with the whimsical side of the design.
I printed the design onto 180g standard glossy photo paper by Office Depot.
I cut off all of the outer borders except the innermost red one and mounted the remainder on gold glitter cardstock for extra sparkle. I chose a craft cardstock base to enhance the rustic feel.
When layering, I used foam squares for the sentiment and the first layer of the bow & bell, on the top bell layer I used foam squares on the bottom and glue dots on the top to better tie layers together in the middle of the design.
Because there are 4 layers to the snow man, I used glue dots on the second and third layer and for the fourth layer, the scarf, I again used foam squares on the bottom and glue dots at the top.
I used my Kuretake gold glitter brush pen to enhance the snow flaces just a little bit.
I love it when I can adjust a design so it's a little more me, and that certainly works with this one. Very good investment - I will definitely make more of this.
