This design lends itself so easily to making a very quick and easy card, by simply cutting out the topper at the size desired and attaching it to the front of a suitably sized folded card.
Ceredwyn has offered all the elements with this design for the purchase to choose to embellish the card using some or all of the elements using the decoupage method.
I have chosen to make a point of difference to this delicate purple and pink hued floral, versatile greeting design by printing the design twice onto the same A4 satin finished 170gsm white card.
I used one image to remove the white surround area around the pink scalloped edge.
I attached this to the 13.5cm purple backing sheet. I used the second image to remove the outer white lace and pink scalloped edging and using padded D.S. tape attached this to the topper.
I cut out all the smaller elements from the first copy and attached them in order into position using a mixture of thickened white glue and tiny padded pieces of D.S. tape.
The berry sprays and the purple prickly seed head followed by the flower bud, the darker mauve of the anemones and last of all the more open bloom of the pale mauve anemone.
This ensured I could tuck all the stems and leaves in place and so keep the original view of the floral spray.
As all the butterflies are facing the same direction, I have used these elements from both copies to layer the wings.
I completed the main purple and white fine gingham check card by printing it onto both sides of gloss 180gsm, white A4 card.
I cut this to measure 18x14cm and scored and folded it.
I completed the insert by using the larger frame and central elements, still not used, to place them onto the mauve and white mottled backing paper, placing the verse I have chosen to sit centrally behind the pink and white lace frame and the sentiment at the top of the frame.
The floral image from the first sheet I placed on the left of the insert. I used my glue roller tape to attach this insert to the centre of the card. I then made several copies of this to keep for future use.
I completed the embellishments to the front of the card using decorative gold and silver glitter vine style peel off strips and the sentiment.
I attached the deep rose pink ribbon across the front and over into the inside of the card securing the tail ends together using red power tape.
I tied the bow using the same pink ribbon and used crystal glitter gel to high light the butterflies, the petals and berries.
I have used the same elements to also make and to use as an insert for a finished card which will sit in the upright easel style.
Thank you Ceredwyn, this design will also make a handsome Mother’s Day, Easter and Sympathy greeting topper. Pamela Horton The Whispering Platypus.
