Silver Framed Toppers 3Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThank you Lorna for these 6 beautiful toppers, with which I have made 6 individual cards and a bedroom boudoir screen using this set.
I printed the sheet provided twice onto 170gsm white A4 matte card and cut each individual image out.
I then printed the sheet onto good quality white A4110gsm photo paper, and cut each of these out to use as part of the insert for each of the cards.
I left the 1st image with the border as presented on the sheet and the other 5, I defined the edges using a broad silver metallic permanent pen.
The 1st image I have treated as a gold and green theme and for each of the others I have used the main image shading as the theme for the backing sheets, inserts and embellishments.
The pink has a 2 tone backing sheet and pink peel off strips, the darker mauve has purple and pale mauve backing sheet, glitter silver, gold decorative peel off strips and is on a white Crafty Bob scalloped edge card.
The pale mauve, which is also attached to a Crafty Bob scalloped card, has a pale version of Clare Walker’s design, cup814313_7993, Christmas lace effect as the background sheet and a 2 tone pink and purple backing sheet attached to the topper before I have mounted this using padded D.S. tape.
To complete the 2 blue themed toppers, I have backed the pale blue with a silver 9cm doily and the darker blue with a white 9cm doily before attaching this to the scalloped card using padded D.S. tape.
I printed cup814313_7993 onto both sides of A4 200gsm white matte, Crafty Bob photo paper. The boudoir screen is made by tri-folding this sheet to fit three of the images on the panels of the screen to make a 2 sided screen.
I cut away the leg spaces and finished with the folded screen measuring 17cm high by 29.91 cm wide.
Each leg is 1.5cm wide. I have used cotton lace and 2 white paper 9cm doilies to cut into thirds and attached these to both the front and the back of the card sections, attaching the images randomly and attached some silver drop bead embellishments to enhance the screen front.
I used ivory, black spot buttons to represent castors on the front panel, and black buttons with ivory spots for the inside panel.
I have made some paper patchwork dresses, a bow, a shoe and a red heart as embellishments. I left the complete white narrow border around the entire background to add to the dimensional feel. I have not attached sentiments to any of these as yet.
The inside of the boudoir screen is a busy place and represents the busy recipient teenager’s, whole room. I am sending you a virtual hug for the inspiration which motivated this project. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
