2 lady toppersCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionI have made a card from each of these images, so generously, offered for purchase by Joan King Crafts. The positive messages on each of the cards have made wonderful choices to make and send to friends in self isolation.
I printed the sheet provided onto good quality A4 white photo paper, twice, onto the A4 sheet which gave me 2 images of each of the toppers supplied with the sheet.
To complete the first card I have used a black card cut at 21 x 15cm and scored and folded it before making up the topper.
I have used 3 backing sheets, background sheet, cup1036759_21027, Blue Sky with Wispy White Clouds, cut at 10.25x13.5cm and buttercup yellow, cut at 9.5x12.5cm to attach together with D.S. tape and then added the white and orange peel off strips before attaching the soft orange 1cm wide satin ribbon across horizontally 2.5cm down from the top edge of the blue sky backing sheet and attaching the tails at the back.
I then completed the topper by attaching the orange backing sheet, cut at 8.5x11.5cm and the main image onto the card front attaching them using D.S. tape.
I then added the final decorative white peel off strip, the sentiment and the matching bow.
I have used the same background, cup1036759-21027, cut at 21x15 to attach to the inside of the card as the insert the single image of the red headed girl from the sheet, I drew and attached the poppies and hand wrote my own message.
In hind sight it may have looked more professional to print this message onto the background sheet.
To complete the second card I have used white A4 good quality photo paper and scored and folded it, from the left, in, using M fold 9.5cm and in from the right hand side, using V fold at 10.5cm.
I am using the Fold Back Hidden Ribbon method for this second card. With the card right side down, I measured the half way distance (and only 1cm wide) for the slit for the 1cm wide green ribbon.
I then used the craft knife to carefully make the 2 slits There is a free tutorial on the site to explain this in photographic detail.
The measurements for this card and placement of threading the ribbon are slightly different and so is the actual size of the card.
The ribbon is then attached using D.S tape across the centre back panel at 6.5cm down from the top edge of the white card and threaded in to the front of the card through the slits.
I attached the ribbon across the inside of the back of the card 6.5cm down from the top edge and used the backing sheet made from cup1036759_21027, cut at 20cm x14cm which then covers an hides the ribbon.
I completed the card front using a bright leaf green 9.5x13.25cm backing sheet and a soft brown 12x9cm and the image which measures 8x11cm to attach together using D.S. tape to the card front, which measures, 10x14cm and forms the fold back section of the card front.
I used the second image from the sheet provided to trim away most of the background and retaining, the chair, table, fence the scarf and the beautiful girl and attached this image using Glu Stik.
I have written and attached the sentiment, in keeping with the theme and used gold glitter decorative peel off strips as extra embellishments.
I am available to help[ and give more instruction through my home page for any of the methods used. Thank you Joan, I love these ladies (Girls). I hope you like what I have done today. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
