I love to go out with my human friend
For a walk around the block
We mustn’t stay out too long
He has to watch the clock

It’s all to do with this virus
They call it Covid 19
So we mustn’t mix with others
Or at least we mustn’t be seen

They nod their heads but don’t say much
We dogs, we don’t really care
We still sniff around and cock our legs,
As though Covid wasn’t there
LOVE YOU STAY SAFE FOR ME

A dog isn't just an animal,
He's your comforter and your friend,
He's always there at the start or your day,
He's present at the end,
And all the bits that's in between,
The good times and the bad,
Giving more joy when you're feeling happy,
Making you smile when you feel sad,
Their zest for life endless,
Their excitement as we walk through the door,
We owe so much to our canine friends,
We couldn't ask for anything more.

They say that a dog is man's best friend
A friendship you hope will never end
A companion on a country walk
Who listens to you when you talk
A loyal friend who knows when you are sad
Who runs and hides when you get mad
But never gives up loving you
I know you love you best friend too

I am your loving dog called .............
And I really can run quite fast
I bet I could outrun you
If only you were to ask
One day we could have fun
A race is what I'd like
I bet before you had begun
I'd be quicker than you on a bike

You said we're going for a walk
At least that's what I think you said
I understand, but cannot talk
But I can growl and bark instead
We are going to post a letter you said
Let's get your lead, then we'll go
Not the lead, let me run free instead
If I could talk, I'd let you know
It's so much more fun, chasing around
Sniffing and smelling the scene
I just put my nose down on the ground
And I know where my dog friends have been

I have sat and guarded the house
While you have been out of our home
I barked when someone knocked on the door
In case they were after my bone

I did what your said when you left
I sat and guarded the home
Now you are back I'm so happy
I hate being left all alone

I'm just a scruffy old mongrel dog
But my love for you is real
Especially when you give me treats
After I've eaten up all my meal

As you walk your dog along the street
You will meet other dog walkers too
Some may be friends, others strangers
But they love their dog just like you

I'm going to the kennels for Christmas
I'll get lots of doggy treats and a bone
My family love me I know that,
After Christmas they'll take me home

You walk your dog
He's your best friend
He loves you through and through
He cuddles up for you to pet
'Cause he knows you love him too

Your dog is a big old softy
Scary to some but not me
He loves to curl up on your bed at night
And by day he lays on the settee

I am a dog held on a lead
Who likes to go for walks
The only problem is that
My mistress stops to talk

She seems to talk for hours
As I sit waiting patiently
For that walk that she has promised
So that I can run and scamper free

Your canine friend is your friend forever
No matter what your do
He'll guard you and he'll fight for you
Just to show that he loves you

I know you love your dog
He's such a loyal pet
You give him love, he laps it up
He loves you too, I bet

Do you have a tasty treat
Just a nibble of biscuit or two
Or could it be I'm on a diet
To lose weight along with you?

I know I am a bit hefty
You said 'No more chocolate for you'
But to cut out my treats is unkind to me
I wouldn't do that to you

I'm going for a walk with my dog
But outside I see there is fog
We will walk through the wood
I'd stay at home if I could
I must be careful not to trip on a log

My little dog's head is on my knee
She's telling me it's time for tea
She sits and waits so patiently
So tight and snuggled close to me
She's been there since half past three
Waiting for her tea

A lovely dog with long floppy ears
a friend you have memories with all through the years

You never leave my side,
A constant companion you make,
Rain, shine, snow or wind,
A walk with you I'll take.

You never ask for much,
Just breakfast, dinner and a walk,
Much fuss I make of you each day,
If only you could talk!

He's there when I wake in the morning,
He's there when I sleep at night,
My faithful, companion dog,
With him days are so bright,
His eyes speak words of wisdom,
His tail tells of much joy,
For a day is never fulfilled,
Without a walk - just me and the dog!

He chases rabbits through fields,
Squirrels up trees,
And cats through garden gates,
My four legged friend throws himself into life,
With a gusto that never ends,
He has a long waggly tail,
A cold, wet nose,
And a bounce that just never ends,
He's the love of my life,
Companion and friend,
And with him days turn out just right!

Congratulations on your new family member,
a very special dog,
he's squarely fallen on his feet,
we all know of that.
