But the wish is the same -
hope your birthday was great!

Sorry this card is a little late,
Sorry that I made you wait.
I didn't forget such an important date,
I was just trying to make a card that?s first rate.

Happy Belated Birthday!
Hope you think the card I made was worth the wait.

They say that an elephant never forgets,
Well as you know, am definitely no elephant
So allowances must be made.
Anyway a late birthday card
Is better than none.

Wanting to prolong the inevitable
I waited an extra day (or week)
To send this card, in hopes
That Father Time would follow suit!

I did not forget your birthday
Promise and cross my heart, I did not!
It?s just that this card is so lovely
But it was in the belated birthday lot.
So I had to wait and extra day or two
To mail it off to you!

It's easy to forget -
A dentist appointment
An anniversary
The pain of childbirth
To stop and pick up some milk

But HOW could I forget
YOUR BIRTHDAY???

(but I did - Sorry)

I knew there was something I had to do
I tried to remember this morning
I tried to remember at lunchtime
I tried to remember on my way home from work
I tried to remember at suppertime
I couldn't remember

Just as I was about to drop off to sleep
I remembered what I forgot

I was supposed to send you a birthday card
And I forgot!!!

Sorry!

2 weeks ago and the week before
I thought i about it yesterday and realised your birthday had already gone

but the dog didn't tell me

I looked at the calendar today
And realized I had forgotten your birthday.
