Sorry Belated

This card is to say sorry,
As your birthday came and went,
Somehow I missed the day,
My wishes were not sent,
So hope this card makes up,
For missing your special day,
And just to let you know,
All our love is sent your way!

Occasionally in my busy life,
I do have to confess,
I sometimes miss those special days,
But I don't love you any less,
So please do forgive me,
I let your birthday pass,
And never did wish you lots of love,
With much joy and happiness.

I did nearly hesitate.

why your card is late,
i can only just apologise
and say i forgot the date.
