Grandparents Day

There are two special people,
Who share my life with me,
They are very kind and generous,
They mean the world to me you see,
So to mark this special day,
My grateful thanks goes out to you,
For being such wonderful Grandparents,
And for everything you do.

Grandparents can be funny
Grandparents can be serious
Grandparents can be happy
Grandparents can be sad
Most of all they're totally mad!

Their views are the final decision
Dancing and singing have precision
They know everything and never wrong
When weak we're told they're strong
Repeated stories are always long!

Grandparents can also be fair
Grandparents are always there
Not to be messed with or shoved
Grandparents are very much loved
Have respect and enjoy their time

And patches on my coat

My teacher sat and wrote

I have to pretend to be scary
To scare bad people away
Please come along and see me

Children get their buckets and spades
Grandpa starts digging in the sand
Helping the children to build a sand castle
Also their Grandma gives a hand

Then she unpacks a picnic lunch
For the family to enjoy
They are such a very happy bunch
It's fun for every girl and boy

You mean the world to me
I love your hugs and kisses
When I sit upon your knee
