A Christmas Card with a Watercolour Image

Draw an angel from a template and fill in with Neocolor II water-soluble wax crayons from Caran d'Ache. Brush water over the colours to make them flow together. Fix the finished image onto a piece of black card and mount onto the folded Christmas card.

1

Print the template with angel designs, available as a separate PDF file for this idea. Shade the back of the print with a soft pencil, then place the shaded area facing down on top of the watercolour paper – the angel print is facing up.

A print is made from the shaded area onto the watercolour paper when copying the printed angel along the outlines. Use the same pencil but sharpen it.

2

Draw the outline of the angel clearly onto the watercolour paper using a black marker.
