A keyring

A pendant made from plaited leather cords. Hot owls painted with Poster Hobby Markers on black shrink plastic sheets, shrunk in the oven to 1/3 of the original size and attached to a keyring.

Cut two pieces of leather cords each measuring 15cm. Fit these in the keyring.

Plait with four cords – plait the leather cord as shown in picture 2, 3 and 4.

Cut off the ends.

Glue the ends together and attach an end cap.

Cut a 5cm piece of leather. Insert this piece through the eye of the end cap.

Glue on the bead.

Draw a design on a shrink plastic sheet. Please note that the motif shrinks to slightly less than half size.

Cut out the design.

Make a hole using a paper punch or use a hole punch. Paint with poster hobby marker.

Put it in the oven at 130 C for approx. 1 minute. The design will start to shrink and twist. Take it out when it is flat again – use tweezers if necessary.

Fit a round jump ring.
