A smart Poncho

This is lovely to knit – and lovely to wear. Knit two elongated pieces, sew them together and knit on a roll neck.We have used No. 10 Circular Knitting Needle.

Materials

8 balls of Sydney Yarn. No. 10 Circular Knitting Needle.


A Poncho

Sl 30 m. op meget l st. Cast on 30 stitches very loosely. From here knit according to the pattern. 1st row: plain 2nd row: 2 plain, *2 plain together, make one/wool forward*. Repeat from * to * until you have 2 stitches left. Knit these plain. 3rd row: plain. 4th row: 2 plain, * make one/wool forward, 2 plain together*. Repeat from * to * until you have 2 stitches left. Knit these plain. Repeat these four rows until the knitting measures 65cm. Then knit one row plain. Cast off very loosely on the next row. Knit another piece like this. Sew the two pieces together; sew one end onto the half of the other piece's long side. The other end of this piece is then sewn onto the half long side of the first piece.


A Roll Neck

Pick up 52 stitches around the neck with the Circular Knitting Needle and knit ribbed knitting (2 plain, 2 purl) until the roll neck measures 35cm. Cast off loosely and secure all ends.
