Bracelets braided from semi-gloss polyester cords with colourful howlite beads.
Cut a 150cm piece of 2mm macram cord measuring 150cm and double over. Braid around a 1mm piece of cord measuring approx. 40cm. Braid beads onto the cord as you go along. See the technique below.
Fasten the bracelet by braiding a piece of cord around the two parallel pieces of 1mm cord. See the technique below.
Tie a triple knot and melt it lightly.
Braiding Technique: A clip board is used for starting and supporting the braiding. Attach the pieces of cord under the clip. Thread beads onto the middle piece of cord.
Follow steps B to I. Start again and switch from right to left until the desired length is reached.
Push up the beads when they are needed.
Place the middle cords parallel and braid an extra piece of cord over the two middle cords.
Cut off the ends leaving approx. 1cm.
Melt the ends one by one with a lighter and immediately push them into the braided piece with a pair of scissors (for example) so they melt together.
