This bracelet is made from neon beads threaded onto a piece of neon coloured macram cord. Braid around each bead and finish the bracelet with a braided section used as a fastener.
Attach a 40cm piece of macram cord onto a clip board and thread beads onto the cord.
Cut a piece of macram cord measuring approx. 150cm and double it over. Start braiding around the cord attached to the clip board by placing the 150cm long cord with 75cm on either side. Start approx. 10cm from the top of the clip board. Make approx. 3 braiding knots.
Push a bead up to the nearest braided knot and make a new braided knot around the bead.
Continue the procedure with two braided knots between each bead.
Cut off the two cord ends used for braiding and secure them by melting them. Melt one end at a time and immediately push it into the braiding with a pair of scissors or the pointed end of the lighter so they melt together.
Place the two ends parallel and braid around these with a new approx. 30cm piece of cord over the two middle cords. Finish by cutting off the ends and melting them following the same procedure as described above.
For decoration thread a bead onto each end of the middle piece of macram cord and tie a knot, trim and melt.
Fastening with a button: Start the bracelet with a loop and finish the braiding with a large bead as a fastener.
Fastening with a clasp: Glue each end of the bracelet into an end cap. Attach an oval jump ring onto each end cap. Attach a lobster claw clasp onto one of the oval jump rings.
This bracelet is made using rainbow coloured macram cords.
