You can make unique jewellery for him or her. For the husband, the wife or the girlfriend/boyfriend - or for yourself. Here is jewellery for any occasion. Handmade in a rustic fashion.
Cut a 165mm length of 4mm leather cord in the desired colour. Double over the cord and make a knot by passing the cord to the left behind and up again through the loop. The loop must be the correct size for being used as a fastener for the knot (ca. 4cm cord).
Tie another knot – this time with the cord on the right side, behind and up over the left and then down through the loop which emerges – and tighten both loops tightly.
Now take the cord which is on the left, pass it behind and up and down through the loop which emerges and tighten. Continue with these steps.
You may thread a silver bead onto one cord, once you have reached half of the desired length of the bracelet. If you want to make the bracelet with a rhinestone tube, then attach the rhinestone tube with a round jump ring at both ends, and squeeze it onto the cords between two knots.
Continue these steps until you reach the desired length – calculate approx. 2cm for the finish, when you measure the finished bracelet. Make an ordinary knot with both cords and tighten firmly. Cut off the ends. You may glue the cut off ends in the tightened knot for better durability.
Natural twine may be moistened with warm water prior to braiding to make the braiding easier.
