A greeting card folded from Vivi Gade Design paper (Helsinki) and decorated with self-adhesive rhinestone half-pearls and card/paper from the Color Bar series which is also used for making the place card bag. The bag is closed with a mini clothes peg.
Cut a piece of paper measuring 25 x 25cm. Mark the centre from each side. Fold all four sides towards the centre. Unfold and turn over.
Fold all four corners so they touch the folded line.
Now fold again towards the centre from one mark to the other. Unfold and turn over.
Fold the two side marks towards the centre and the corner almost folds automatically.
This is what it looks like when all four corners are folded:
Cut a piece of green/pink paper measuring 12.5 x 12.5cm. Cut a piece of pink card measuring 10.5 x 10.5cm. Print out or write the word "invitation" on a piece of white paper. Assemble all the parts with glue and attach inside the folded greeting card using double-sided adhesive tape.
Cut a strip of pink card to be used as a ribbon and glue it in place around the greeting card.
Punch out circles from green/pink paper.
Attach a self-adhesive rhinestone half-pearl onto a circle and then attach this onto the ribbon on the greeting card.
Cut two 4.5 x 4.5cm squares and cut them diagonally (into triangles). Print out text and glue the text onto the four triangles; one triangle in each of the four corners.
Menu card: Attach paper, card and printed text onto a piece of white card. (Use the envelope for the folded greeting card).
A place card bag with a surprise: (NB: a different sort of paper is used for the folding technique)
Fold a piece of A4 paper lengthwise and unfold again.
Then fold the paper in half across the width.
Fold the top corners toward the center and unfold again.
Fold the sides to the center line.
It now resembles a "paper hat".
The upper sides of the "hat" are folded into the center ...
... and then folded into the center once more. Turn and repeat this procedure from the other side.
Fold the "flaps" down along both sides.
Open the bag and push up the base.
Punch holes in the flaps. Tie a piece of ribbon with beads and the end of a peacock feather through the holes of the bag – and the bag is now finished!
