Octagonal Flower Border Card with ButterflyCompleted by JaneAmber

I cut the main part of the card and the butterfly back from a cream linen 220gsm cardstock using my Cricut Air.

I then added a backing plate cut from a deep cerise glitter card, from which I also cut the top of the butterfly.

This backing made the design really stand out. I then added the top octagon, also cut from glitter card in a contrasting colour. I then cut the flourish and added to the top of the card .

Next I added the butterfly by gluing the glitter one to the cream backing by the body so that the wings could stand up, giving a 3D effect.

I stuck the finished butterfly on top of the flourish To finish I added some adhesive gems to the flower centres and the body of the butterfly..

A fantastic card that can be finished in a variety of ways.
