516 Floral Cup & Saucer Shaped CardCompleted by Gwyneth George
OccasionI opened the design in my Silhouette Studio software and printed the pieces out onto 250gsm Super Smooth white cardstock - to be honest, I'd intended to print onto 300gsm but got my cardstocks mixed up and doing it onto 250gsm meant that the weight isn't quite enough to hold things like the bee upright.
After printing I fed the sheets into my Silhouette Cameo and used the Print & Cut feature to cut out the design layers.
I also cut the "Saucer" and construction strips out of 280gsm, linen texutred, white cardstock. I then coloured in the pieces using my ProMarkers.
I folded the construction strips and built up the "cup" layers.
I decided to make metal swirl pieces to put behind the butterfly to give it some stability, so cut 3 pieces of 16guage silver coloured wire and coloured them using the green ProMarker I'd used on the image itself before twisting them around and sticking the bottom, ends behind the middle layer with ultra tacky tape.
I found a little doily to put on the "saucer" under the "cup". This folds flat easily and also easily pops out to stand firmly on the saucer.
