This card for me was difficult to photograph. The photo doesn't even begin to show its beauty in person. I cut the butterflies from glitter card stock by turning the card stock front side down on the mat and mirroring the files.
You must mirror to be able to assemble correctly if you turn any paper front side down. Turning glitter stock upside down gives a smooth surface to cut through so the blade doesn't get stuck in the glitter.
I used the same glitter stock taped to the back side of the inside part of the card.
On the front I did the same thing having the glitter stock show the lovely design on the front of the card.
This file creates a very stunning result.
I bought this butterfly card designed by Judith Henry.
I love this pop up butterfly card so much, it made me chuckle out loud when I first made it!
The first one is plain out of ordinary cardstock. For the second one, I used distress ink to colour the butterflies on both sides after the pieces has been cut out. It has a real WoW factor!
The inside Pop up elements were cut using 29# vellum card stock. Color was added by dabbing on Pallette Hybrid inks, The butterfly wings were colored on both sides of the vellum for a richer result.
The inside base was cut from a heavy weight card stock and the outside from a light weight. I added a sheet of typing paper between the outside and inside so that I could add color to show through the cuts.
