I cut this from premium card stock and made sure my blade was really sharp to be able to cut all the tiny holes.
I choose to make this yellow because I currently have no one to give it to, so I'll wait until I know if it is a boy or girl.
Then I'll attach the "Babyboy/girl". Very cute card topper and a pleasure to make.
I'm new to machine cutting so was a bit nervous about the lace effect, but am very happy with how this turned out.
All the layers look like a lot of paper, but the pieces fit on one sheet of white and one sheet of colored 12x12 paper.
Instead of using it as a topper, I cut an additional base piece and glued at the top in back to make a shaped card.
Will add the boy or girl sentiment when I know which is needed. I used an embossing folder to add texture to the top layer, and added a bow and some rhinestones.
A few hints if you're also new to this: Make sure your sitcky mat is sticky as you don't want the paper to lift up at all, and it also helps pull out the little holes from the lace.
If you don't have a purchased scraper, an old plastic credit card works great to push the holes off your mat.
If you use textured paper for the lace pieces, be sure to have a very sharp blade. As a bonus, the words could be used on other cards.
I love all the lace designs!
