Layered Doily 1 & ButterflyCompleted by Gwyneth George

I opened the cutting file in my Silhouette Studio software and then cut out the base doily layer out of very dark blue cardstock and the top layer and butterfly out of purple cardstock. I created a circular easel base card from 2 sheets of white hammered cardstock. I also made a circular layer of the same cardstock just a little smaller than the smalest doily layer. I attached the largest doily directly to the front of my card using template tape, and also attached the smallest doily to the extra circle, using the same tape applied to the solid circle near the centre. I took a sheet of foiled acetate butterflies and flowers from my crafting stash and popped out two butterflies and six flowers. I also cut two small strips of acetate from the waste of the sheet. I folded the strips over and attached one end behind the small white circle, again using template tape. I used 1mm deep, double sided, foam tape to attach the matted smalest doily to the card front. I used a Quickie Glue Pen put one one half of the butterfly to attach it to the inside base of my card so that it acts as a stopper for the easel card, and I used glue gel to attach the acetate flowers inside as well. I used small strips of template tape to attach the two butterflies to the acetate strips that are bent over the front. These butterflies stand proud of the card and flutter with any movement, but fold flat to get into an envelope. The whole card is based on a 6" diameter circle so fits into a 6" square envelope. There is space inside to write the greeting.

These layered doilies would be a great addition to anybody's digital crafting library, and would look great cut out of any coloured cardstock to suit your project.
