Scalloped Heart Toppers 2Completed by Gwyneth George

I printed background cup108414_572 onto Super Smooth white card and then cut the heart shape out of it using my CraftROBO and the largest heart from this kit. I created a base card from an A3 sheet of Centura Pearl Snow White card, giving it a 2cm spine to accomodate the depth of the heart I wanted to hang in it. I trimmed the rose sheet with the apperature to fit nicely on the card front, leaving a small border. I placed the rose card with aperature in place and marked aorund then cut the aperature out of the base card as well (too big to go in my CraftROBO so had to do this by hand using a craft knife). Before sticking the rose background with aperature over the the card front with aperature I placed a strip of red organza ribbon under the edge. Once stuck in place I went round the aperature edge with a gold metalic marker pen to colour the white edge, and went around the rose background with fine red border peel-offs. I created the central heart by cutting out layers of heartsin various colours of Silk Art card, again using my CraftROBO, making two extra for the greetings panel. I made two sets of each layer, build up the two hearts using 2mm deep foam tape to stick the layers together. I then attached another piece of the same red organza ribbon to the back of one heart before sticking the two hearts together. I've left the back heart without decoration and think that a greeting, or the initials of the recipient could be put on it. The front of the heart and the hearts used as a greeting panel were decorated with cream and red little mulburry paper flowers from my crafty stash. A bow of the oranza ribbon was also put on the front of the heart.

The heart was hung in the apperature and tied in place, with the bow at the back. A small gift of a hand made bracelet, or earings in a little organza bag could also be added to the bow at the back as a special gift as well I think.

I purpously made the heart hang using two pieces of ribbon tied with a bow, rather than one piece of ribbon attached at both ends as the heart can be removed from the card and used as a wall hanging or kept as a keepsake.

This is a really lovely cutting file which cut nice and cleanly, and can be made up with all the layers, or just using the smaller layers for a smaller card.
