I have used a garden scene in hues of aqua, green, purple and yellow to print onto both sides of 200gsm white Crafty Bob matte photo paper and then cut down to measure 28x14cm as the main card for this project.
I then used an aqua shade metallic pen to define both the inside and outside edges. I printed the sheet provided twice onto an A4 sheet of 200gsm copy paper, and twice onto an A4 sheet of 120gsm copy paper.
I used one copy of the 200gsm image to trim down to11cm square.
I used a previously purchased frame to attach onto a 12.5cm square dark aqua blue backing sheet using D.S. tape.
I attached a bright emerald green 1cm wide satin ribbon onto 3cm wide white lace and attached this horizontally across the front of the frame and backing sheet, so that the top of the lace is 2cm down from the top edge of the dark aqua backing sheet.
I then folded the edges of both sides under so that the finished length of the ribbon and lace is as wide as the finished card front, 14cm.
I secured the tail ends at the back using red power tape. I then used padded D.S. tape to attach the main image to the card front.
I have then used the other copies of the sheet to cut out the smaller sections of the images to use as smaller elements in a decoupage effect.
I used one full image of the little girl and rabbit, then an image of the little girl waist high including the arm and the egg and one image of the little rabbit using just the front legs, tail and inside the ears, and then as the final step by step, an image of the little girl’s head.
The first layer of this step by step method, I have used D.S. tiny padded squares and for the other 2 layers I have used thickened glue as adhesives.
To complete the embellishments, I have written and attached a sentiment, in keeping with the theme of the verse, I have written for the insert sheet, I have made a tiny bow with long tails and a flower which I have made using a sunflower button to attach to a paper flower with leaves and pearls which I have made and attached this to a concertina style ruffle I have made using the same lace as on the card front.
These embellishments I have attached using red power tape. To complete the insert, I have made a smaller, gift card style, card from the left over main card sheet and added a peel off sentiment and hand written with love on the inside.
I added some glitter glue to the rabbit’s tail. The verse is available for free on the Free Verse section under Easter. I am delighted with the outcome of this project and I hope you will find the description easy to follow.
I have also used this image a couple of times and have included a photograph of a previous card I made using the Egg Girl and using a stitching pattern, by Emy van Schaik.
I have a free tutorial planned for the easy make of this beautiful paper and pearls flower I have used on this card front, however I need to encourage my friend to help me photograph the images step by step while I make a couple of flowers.
