The Great Tapestry of Scotland by Janyce Cotterill

I recently visited The Great Tapestry of Scotland which is in a beautiful, modern, easy accessible building in the Borders of Scotland, Galashiels. Before going I had read a lot about it, researched it, heard about it on the radio and it exceeded my expectations. There are a 160 panels of exquisite needlework panels done by groups and individuals throughout Scotland depicting the rich and vibrant history of this wonderful country. I cant begin to show you the wonderful work you will see there in these four little photos. The only way to learn more about it is take a look at their website, read more about the place and if you are able, plan a visit! Just search The Great Tapestry of Scotland Exhibition and that should give you links to their website. Im leaving you with my two Christmas Mini Kits, one being the most recent of my designs. Thank you very much for your interest.

Burning by Tina Fitch

Well if you stand too close youre bound to get burnt! The Lakenheath maintainer watching the F15e take off from the last chance spot.Look at the afterburner its red hot!I just love to stand and watch. Sometimes I miss the fun by being behind the lens but I always have the shots to look back on to remind me of the memories. And its something you never forget once seen…

Finally got to go see my Family .... by Silvia Griffin

As many of you know I was born and raised in Switzerland but emigrated to the USA in my twenties.. Finally got to go see my family after 6 years. Always LOVE to go shopping for food when I am there. Swiss Chocolat has always been my downfall .... when it comes to being good. This is a picture of one -not a very fancy- stores assortment. Just keeps going on and on ....I always have to make sure there is enough room in my return suitcase for Food Items that I cannot get in the USA. The other novelty in Europe is that mustard, mayo come in a Tube. Not available by us. We will not return until February, so I apologize for not creating many new Items during this time.

I ... by Carol Clarke

... Had a lovely day out with my youngest son and my two youngest grandchildren at the weekend. Wed gone to a country park to see and cheer on the youngsters from Mansfield Harriers who were running in the Cross Country races. Olivia had been due to run too but as she broke her wrist a few weeks ago and still had it in plaster she wasnt able to so she wanted to cheer on her friends who were racing! Both she and her younger brother had a lovely time on the park ... and of course had to have ice creams too! lol

Blow your heart out Glenn Miller by Janice McFarlane

I love the big band sound, especially the late band leader Glenn Miller. Brought up on it as a child, the distinctive smooth sound, of his orchestra and him playing a muted trombone. Last year my grandson Alfie chose a cornet as his musical instrument at school. So when my daughter sent me this picture I had to smile, for two reasons first one as she sent me the picture I had literally just finished watching the Glenn Miller Story with James Stewart in the leading role, and it just coincidently happened to be on tv. Secondly I couldnt help but comment that his cornet seemed to have grown overnight with an extra bit added. How he will get on I really dont know how he will get on with it. There is a happy and mischievous glint in his eye. Perhaps at the noise he is going make practicing, and it is going to drive his mum, dad and brother mad. Ear defenders at the ready then!

Renos by Vicki Avcin

We are slowly making progress on the renovations to our house. Every ceiling in the place has to be replaced, so we began doing three bedrooms. We nicknamed the rooms, Holey Room, Blood Room and Light Blue Room. After replacing the ceiling and 2 walls in new plasterboard, and then plastering joins and patching holes, putting on new skirting and trims and doing the gap filling, we have now begun painting. The photos are of the Holey Room, named because every wall was full of holes, which was painted originally in a dark blue, we have now a normal room. We have prep coated all 3 bedrooms and today hubby will start on the top coat of the ceilings. Because everything had to be prep coated we decided to use an air spray to do the rooms which only took about 20mins to do each room. The photos show the real estate ad for the holey room, to taping up the windows, hubby spraying and a pano shot of the room after the prep coat. It feels good to finally see the end product and feel we have accomplished something. With only hubby and I doing it all its taking longer than wed like but it is satisfying to see it all come together.

Just Sam by Sue Way

Our puppy Sam is now 15 months old. He is the sweetest, most loveable boy. He is a lot calmer than Billy was at that age, Billy was so high-energy! Sam loves his floof rubs, which is where he throws his head back for us to rub his neck fur lol He also thinks that every throw in the house belongs to him and if you put one over him, he holds the corner in his mouth, so cute. The other evening when I came back into the room I was greeted by this site.
