My …. by Carol Clarke

…… youngest granddaughter,Olivia aged 10, was competing in the Nottinghamshire Schools Cross Country League last weekend and I went along to cheer her on. Shes been running and training at the Berry Hill track for a while now and has competed in a few races too. But she had to have time off from training and competing when she broke her arm and shes only recently been able to run again, so we werent expecting her to do anything other than to take part and enjoy the race. Well she sooo proved us wrong! She set out strongly and stayed in second place all the way to the finish! What a star!

New Gradbaby by Vicki Avcin

Well actually hes a new grandfurbaby. His name is Arlo and he arrived at the kids place last week. He was an early Christmas present for the family and is a golden retriever. After the passing of Milo their chocolate Labrador last year there was a big void in their lives and although Milo will never be forgotten, the family had lots of love still waiting to be given. He is the cutest little fellow and already getting into lots of mischief. We met him a couple of days ago and he instantly took to us and didnt mind lots and lots of cuddles. He already knows how to get nice and muddy after he discovered a big puddle of water after recent rain…… took to the water like a dog in the mud! He will have many more cuddles to come and we look forward to having many many years of loving with him.

This weeks designs are both bright colourful floral designs.

Moving... by Janice Shehan

Im thinking of moving north from Florida, USA to Pennsylvania, USA. I would be closer to my daughter and wouldnt have to worry about hurricanes anymore. But, its much colder up there so Im thinking of moving in the spring. One of the things I love about CUP is that no matter where I am I can continue to design for this fabulous company. Im so thankful to God for this great site.

Reindeer Fun Run! by Sue Way

When we walk the dogs along the beach at the weekend we always see the local running club running along the prom. But this weekend we noticed a lot more activity around the lifeboat station This was because the RNLI was hosting a family Reindeer Run along the seafront. It was a 10K challenge but there was also a Santa Saunter so that families could get involved. All participants were given a hot drink, mince pie and antlers. The children also received a goody bag and those running the 10K received a Reindeer Run medal on completion. Our golden retrievers were watching this chap as we walked past. Billy was fascinated by him, but little Sam wasnt so sure. My end of month SALE starts this Sunday, with 20% off of ALL my designs!

Cupboard Love by Janice McFarlane

Ive wrote about my cat Bailey and his antics many times before. One thing about the Ragdoll breed is they tend to follow you everywhere and Bailey is certainly no exception. Having been tripped up by him on a daily basis as he gets under my feet. Leave a cupboard door open and hes inside it investigating, inspecting every square inch. One place he particularly likes is my wardrobe lots of places to explore and spread his cat hair everywhere. Sometimes he manages to get tangled up in stuff. On this occasion I was trying to sort out my wardrobe. Filling bags for our local charity shop, and of course Bailey had to supervise the event from a very prominent point in my wardrobe.

Bee disaster averted by Amanda Assenbruck

Our power company came many months ago to see if the trees needed trimming but it was too wet to get in and do it. We have a beekeeper who has hives on our property at times and he recently brought some hives back in from another property that was too wet. One lot of bees had swarmed in this tree and the beekeeper came out day before yesterday and put them into this box under the tree. Well, yesterday the power company turned up to cut branches off that very same tree. They saw the beehive and had decided to come back at another time after it was removed. I told them how lucky they had been to not come in the day before as the bees would have been swarming in the tree when they went to cut it!
