Lure of The Sea by Janyce Cotterill

A few months ago I had my final trip of 2022, to one of my favourite places. We all have places which bring back happy memories dont we? This small coastal town in Scotland lures me back year after year for a visit and it never tires me. On this occasion I spent the time there with my friend from my infant school days. We reminisced about our childhood whilst walking on the beach and it added more memories to our book of friendship. So as 2023 opens up to us, I hope it creates for you many opportunities for happy moments and memories for us all to treasure. A belated Happy New Year to you all. Im leaving you with my latest mini kit and another sheet on the same theme. Everyone knows a Princess right?

Injured! by Tina Fitch

OH MY GOD!My boy came to visit me for his lunch, I took one look and said OMG out loud at him asking him what happened to his face!Oh he looked so sorry for himself really he did. It looks like he has had a run in with another Fox Dog and I am presuming because its breeding time they are fighting for the Vixens attention.I am absolutely gutted to see his face injured like that, He also had a chunk out of his back fir, it looked awful,,, His face as you can see looked all swollen and the fir had gone on his left side of his face...He and the vixen he has been traveling with the last couple of weeks have returned along with another female which seems to be one of my cubs from 2020...Still Ill try to make sure he stays out of trouble from now on.

Little Angels by Sue Way

These boys certainly keep us on our toes, but when you look at those gorgeous golden faces you can forgive them anything! They had just had another crazy, fun filled run on the beach and I had dried and brushed them. I gave no mention of treats but just look at Billys paw lol Of course I gave in. They have me wrapped around their paws

The ... by Carol Clarke

... best of intentions often come to nothing! Last week I mentioned that my youngest granddaughter, Olivia age 10, would be again competing in a cross country race. Well fate had other ideas! Whilst doing the daily mile at school an older and much heavier boy crashed into her and sent her sprawling. Sadly she inured her wrist and knee and so wasnt able to run! Sooo to cheer her up we did a bit of baking together and she made and decorated some rather yummy chocolate cupcakes! She really loves baking and we even bought her her own baking utensils and a cookery book as an extra Christmas present .... It really came in handy this week and took her mind off her injuries!

Scamp… by Janice McFarlane

…& Dude is my daughters favourite clothing brand. She discovered them a couple of years ago and fell in love with their unusual clothing. It was surprising when she first showed me their style, which tends to be bright almost neon colours with huge animal print motifs. Certainly when she was a teenager she wasnt a girlie girl so to speak. She wasnt into pinks or bright colours at all. The other day, she and her husband were in Marlowe near to wear they live, and driving down the high street she noticed a Scamp & Dude boutique. She had no plans to stop and go in, but her husband pulled over and coaxed her to go and have a look ( it didnt take much coaxing, lol). Their clothes are pricey but beautiful quality and her husband treated her to a jumpsuit and a beanie hat to match the Scamp & Dude coat he bought her for Christmas. As you can see leaving the shop she was beaming.

Summer has arrived! by Vicki Avcin

After lower temperatures so far for most of summer, with just the odd hot day, todays temperature really let us know This is Australia where summers are HOT. Thank heavens for air conditioning. While we are renovating we only have one air con in the lounge at the moment and from lunch time on, that was our haven today. Just after that photo was taken it peaked at 39.2 deg C. Our weather station is in the computer room so a little cooler in there. Back when I was a kid I remember hot days and a good thunderstorm in the afternoon. With the weather globally a bit topsy turvy over the last few years Ive missed the storms. When we were in Hervey Bay Id see down here where we are living now getting storms and wish summer would revert to the hot day/storm in the afternoon. In saying that we have just got a storm warning so fingers crossed it will eventuate to cool things down. When these storms come through they can drop temperatures 10 deg in 10 mins. But I love summer over winter and glad we arent getting the flooding which weve had last couple of years. This years fire season will be a big one after all the rain though.

Our hare by Amanda Assenbruck

One of our hares has been hanging out near the house lately. This morning i looked out the kitchen window and there he was. It seems he was getting dripped on and was a little wet as we had had rolling thunderstorms all night. I was very quiet to open the door for this photo but as soon as i closed it when i came back in he scampered off. I dont mind having the hares here as they are not destructive like the rabbits.
