Tunnel Vision by Janice McFarlane

My cat Bailey loves to play. As a house cat he needs stimulation and exercise, thank fully he has his own toy box and does play with the toys. One of his favourite things is a concertina tunnel. He often charges around the house in what we call his zoomies or his mad half hour and he includes his tunnel in this. A daily game he plays with either me or my husband is to go to the far end of his tunnel and sit and wait as if stalking his prey. We then say to him I can see you, he waits a little longer as we continue to entice him. Then he adopts an attack position, we see his bottom start to wiggle and he shots through the tunnel at what seems like 0-60 in five seconds. It is so funny to watch and quite often he does this multiple times one after the other. He brings us so much pleasure we wouldnt be without him.

Getting braver by Sue Way

Last week I told you about my new to me sewing machine and how I was still plucking up the courage to start sewing again. Well, I am still dragging my feet, but did manage to practice by making this little purse. I made it out of a padded pillow case that Ive had for ages, but never used. I had to use the zig-zag stitch around the edges, which was all fun and games as the knob wouldnt stay in place, so I had to hold it. But that made my first go at sewing even scarier, so I improvised and tied the knob across with a bit of scrap material! My boss gave me some remnants of fabric this week, so I can finally have a go at making a tote bag. Hopefully I can show you that next week.

... Youngest Grandson, Austin, celebrated his eighth birthday this week! I cant believe how fast the years have flown by since he was born. We are lucky enough to have had some wonderful times with all our six grandchildren and as with Austin we have taken them all on days out and on holidays so weve seen lots of them and enjoyed some wonderful times! Our oldest grandchild. Nina, is getting married this year and again Im lucky to be involved in the planning ... especially (of course) the invites and all all of the other crafty bits that go with a wedding .... I guess this is going to be the first of six weddings Im going to be involved with! lol

First Day of the School Year. by Vicki Avcin

Each year I eagerly await photos of the grandbabies first day at school, particularly the ones that live in Townsville as they are so far away. I finally received a photo tonight of them and my heart just melts…….. they are so cute. Bella is in Grade 2 this year and Clay is in Prep. School commenced on 23rd January this year.I still have yet to meet Clay and Bella although hubby has met them and we chat on the phone or facetime. Cant believe where the time has gone it seems like yesterday they were babies. Once we get the house renovated we plan on going up and spending some time with them. Mum says they are both loving school so thats great news too.

Dolly by Tina Fitch

Dolly looking so mischievous on the sofa! Shes really did a grooming session due to her fur growing so much over winter, Ive had to change her groomer and its not been an easy job.Our last one changed hands and Dolly has never come back looking the same once. Im really disappointed so we had to search and I mean search for one that was going to do a proper job for the money they are asking, We have now found one hopefully and on the 23rd February she should be back to looking her pretty self.Lets hope so!!!!
