Painted Sky at Dusk by Janice McFarlane

Sometimes I just have to capture the extraordinary artistry that appears in the sky, especially at dusk. I only wish I could take a photograph from a greater height, but as I live in a bungalow that is not an option. It usually just happens by chance that I catch a beautiful sky as our living area is at the back of the bungalow, so it was just by chance that I was in the bedroom and saw the sky and had to quickly get my phone to snap the picture before the sun disappeared. I thought it just looke as though it had been swept across with a paintbrush.

First Date by Vicki Avcin

26 years ago on Valentines Day my hubby and I had our very first date. It was a kind of by accident date as hubby was over at my place to help chaperone a party for one of the kids that was friends with our kids. We had met each other a few weeks before when one of the kids friends had run the bush basher through a fence and one of hubbys kids said Dad works at a wire place, we will get him to come and fix the fence. So he did and wed talked, found out through out the years our paths mustve passed each other many times and both our kids had gone to school together. So Valentines Day was the first time wed actually hooked up. And the rest is history for us now. Still together and married for 20 years come November this year. The flowers are what he gave me this year and my gift was his favourite, Chinese, with a big special fried rice for dinner.

This weeks designs are both Easter cards, one with 3 crosses and the other a folded diamond top. The diamond top available in different colours also.

My ... by Carol Clarke

... Youngest Granddaughter, Olivia aged 10, was running again in the Cross Country this week. This time it was the Nottinghamshire Schools Cross country, Each District was represented by around 5 girls (boys were in different races) all of whom were in the same school year. Olivia was running for Mansfield and there were over 85 girls in her race. As you can see from my photo she came 3rd and got a bronze medal!! Not only that she has now qualified to represent Nottinghamshire at National level!! As you can imagine we are all sooo proud of her!!

Back at Last! by Tina Fitch

Its been a very long time away from the fence at RAF Lakenheath... November was the last time I was there, what with another bout of covid and a bad back I havent been able to get there. But this week I did and what a delight it was too , to get out of the house for a couple of hours with my camera. The base was very busy after their weekend break and a extra day off Monday for Super Bowl headaches from drinking the day before LOL..The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day watching the jets, A little cold and misty to start but turned out to be a very rewarding day for me.Got nice and close to this PANTHER from 494th

More Sewing by Sue Way

Last weekend I had a bit of spare time to practice my sewing on my old gifted sewing machine. I still wasnt brave enough to attempt the bag I want to make. But thought I would try something easier for practice. Took me all afternoon, with a break for a cuppa, here is my first storage basket. It might not look like much, but it has taught me how to use interfacing and how to box corners, both things I need to know when making my bag. I am still rubbish at cutting out and resorted to sellotaping the pattern to the fabric lol I keep wanting to pick it up like paper like I would to make a card. But its done and I am very happy with how it turned out. I will be making more of these. But this weekend I will definitely be brave enough to finally make the bag!

Hot and Wild weather by Amanda Assenbruck

Summer is almost over here in Queensland but unfailingly we will have a heatwave in February (though luckily it has been not too hot a summer generally speaking.) We have had some terrible bushfires in Qld and flooding in the North! Last post i showed how lovely and green it is after some rain the other week. Very little rain this time (and luckily no hail) but some good storms have swept passed. My pic shows what is left of my covered peach and apple tree after the last storm with very strong winds.
