Pancake Meltdown by Janice McFarlane

As another pancake day has passed us by I cant but mention my daughters efforts. It strange really she loves pancakes and always has a a child, but what I could never understand is, as a child she didnt like Yorkshire Puddings which is made from a similar batter, and she still doesnt. But every year she makes pancakes for the family, which she approaches with great trepidation. She said she needs to warm up first. So as usual she embarks on the first batch, which in turn she has a mini meltdown as they end up more as pancake bits, which are edible but just dont look like the traditional pancakes. By this time she is ready for the second batch and they are more like pranked even though a bit misshapen and slightly over done, but the children are happy and my daughter has pancake bits. Perhaps she could market them lol. I havent had pancakes for years but Ive never had any that surpass the ones my grandmother would make. Perfect batter, depth, and shape and yes they could easily be tossed.

Finally! by Sue Way

So after weeks of chickening out, I finally made my first bag. Its NOT been plain sailing. My very old sewing machine seized up, so after nearly buying a new one, I spent all afternoon cleaning and oiling it and got it working. The pocket is on the wrong side and when I boxed the corners and turned it through my lining and outside were the wrong way round, so I had to unpick the corners and redo them. Then I realized I had only cut out one strap, so had to quickly cut another one. But here it is and I think I did OK. I found the funky fabric in the sale bin outside my local fabric shop. My next project will be simple and fun, but I am tempted to make some Easter baskets for our granddaughters eggs.

One of our resident birds by Amanda Assenbruck

Being rural we have a number of native birds here. This is one of our adult Butcher Birds. He was just hanging around this day and i got a nice shot off (with the camera, lol). I also call them freeloaders as when i let my chooks out they will inevitably head straight in for a feed. Sometimes there can be 4 in there at a time.

Two of my latest cards, one with the play on words herd and the other with the correct spelling. Also similar cards in green and also the purple with heard you werent well. All my products are on discount for 4 days from the 25th.

It .... by Carol Clarke

... was the half-term holidays from school here in the Midlands this week and we were lucky enough to have a few days with our youngest grandchildren. It might have been half term and our youngest grandson, Austin, might only be 8 years old but he still had creative curriculum homework on the topic of mountains or volcanoes. Soooo my crafty challenged daughter in law asked for my help with this. I raided my crafty stash (unsurprisingly I hadnt got much (actually nothing! lol) on either subject! lol) and improvised using paper plates, ribbons, coloured pipe cleaners, felt tip pens, glue, stapler, scrunched up brown paper packaging etc etc etc .... and somehow between us we managed to make a model of a sort of a volcano! Austin had a fabby time and I got to hold, grab and help him staple it into some semblance of a volcano! As you can see by the smile on his face he was really proud of his creation ... I just hope it survives the journey to school on Monday! lol

Kaboodling by Vicki Avcin

Our renovations on our house continue and Ive been frustrated by trying to work out how the kitchen and pantry will look. Drawing it out on a piece of paper is one thing but trying to envisage what the end result will look like isnt as easy. I have tried a couple of free kitchen design programs but figuring out how to use them is harder than I thought. Today in a reno group Im in someone asked the question of what people use and Kaboodle offer one. Kaboodle is the name of the biggest flat pack cupboards here. Weve done the kitchen in Hervey Bay with them and happy with the product and the after sales service and looking at using them again this time. So I gave it a try, now might be me but took me a few goes to figure out how to manipulate things, but the biggest issue was not having size and type cupboards I want to fit in spaces so I just used their basics to try and get some idea of what both panty and kitchen might look like. So the photos are somewhat what I want. Besides the stove being halfway into the hall behind it most things kind of slotted into place. The pantry will have double the base and wall cupboard on the wall I have them on but at least I can visualise it a little more now.

Phone by Tina Fitch

Well heres Dolly with her new toy. Her mobile phone Using it causes her tongue to stick out she looks so funny and its every time she plays with it.We brought from Sainsburys on our weekly shop. We put in our shopping bag and once home leave on the floor in the shopping bag. Dolly always goes through the bags and its really funny watching her go through the bags looking to see if weve bought her something. My husband cant do a weekly shop without buying her a new toy, she must have more toys than my grandchildren
