Im Back by Patricia Platt

Hi all, yes, I am back designing again. I am getting used to a new normal here. The past few years havent been very kind to me, but I am hoping the future will be. I had some major health issues that have changed my life tremendously. I have kidney failure and go for dialysis 3 days a week. Along with having to deal with that and having a few heart attacks, my poor husband came down with dementia rather rapidly and then this past October he passed away. I have had to give up rescuing hedgehogs as I cant take the chance of getting an infection from them. I do have my rescue dog Millie and she has been my rock. Without her I dont think I could have gotten through this past year. I am having to learn a whole new way of life now and I need to slow down doing some things and designing will hopefully help me. I hope you all will enjoy my new designs and ideas that are to come. I have missed everyone and hope to get back into the swing of things again.

I love making teabag cards and designs. I hope you all enjoy making them too. Horses are also a passion, and though I no longer ride, I do still love them.

Just watching by Tina Fitch

Us aviation enthusiasts are not the only ones to stand and watch the F15s. The staff also like to do itHeres 2 of the last chance guys watching the jet take off from a very close range. In fact they must feel the warmth from those afterburners. I know when watching Dow the other end of the airfield when the Reapers were still here. I felt the heat on my head standing underneath the flight path when they were doing unrestricted climbs. And the smell of jet fuel is just unbelievable. But we love it. Well I love and they must certainly love it doing the job daily.

Everyone needs a… by Janice McFarlane

…Linda. Last Thursday 23rd Feb was my birthday. The grand old age of 61 has crept up on me. My husband and I stopped celebrating our birthdays some years ago, although we do buy each other cards but no gifts. We just are of the mind if we need anything we get it or we have nice little gestures from each other through the year. This birthday was different my lovely friend Linda asked if we would visit her on my birthday, which we did and bless her she had laid on a little tea for me as she wanted to cheer me I after having not been too well. This was very special to me, not just because shes a wonderful friend, but the last two years she has been struggling with her mobility and use of her hands due to severe arthritis. I know how hard it would have been for her to do this for me. I think in life sometimes a very special person comes into our lives, apart from our spouses and children. If I had a sister I would hope it would be someone like Linda, she truly is a very special friend.

He was spotted at sports day at school and invited to join Mansfield Harriers and just a few months later was representing Nottinghamshire at National level. Hes now a senior male competitor and last weekend he won Gold at the British Masters Championships in Sheffield where he successfully retained his title! Below are two of my popular Shop Window Pop up Cads … theres lots more to choose from too! Lol

Big Smoke by Vicki Avcin

Last Friday Hubby and I went into Brisbane CBD for the first time in about 22 years. What an eye opener for a couple who grew up and worked in the city. The tall buildings were just starting to be built in earnest when we left. There were a few here and there but Brisbane is wall to wall tall buildings these days. Fortunately there is still a little bit of the old Brisbane dotted here and there between the new buildings. We caught the train from Springfield into Central station so we could go to Births, Deaths and Marriages so hubby could get a full copy of his birth certificate which hell need when he applies for a passport. I also asked about a full copy of our marriage certificate as the certificate given at the wedding is no longer considered as full for identification these days. It is only classed as a token certificate to give the bride and groom on the wedding day. So quick and easy and we had both in under 15 mins.We then got back on the train to go over to South Brisbane (across the river) to go to the Home Show at the Convention Centre. Was interesting to find out about new products that we could consider doing the renovations to the house. When we finished there we got the train back to Roma St and changed trains to go back to Springfield. So glad we trained it into the City as the traffic is crazy. The train trip was the first for hubby in over 22 years but I often used to get the Tilt Train from Hervey Bay when I came down to visit the kids. I love train travel. Was quite the adventure…. Nanny and Poppys Big Day Out!

Lots of Ideas! by Sue Way

My sewing journey continues. I didnt get any done last weekend as I wanted to make some new designs for Craftsuprint. I think the sewing has got my creative juices flowing again as I have lots of new ideas for card-making designs. On Friday I had a migraine, so I stayed home while my hubby went shopping. He came home with a few sewing goodies to cheer me up! Cottons, filled bobbins, scissors, snips, and packs of clips. There were also some cute fat quarter bundles which I am hoping to use to make our youngest granddaughter an Easter basket and maybe a bucket hat for the summer. Watch this space. Here are a couple of my new designs in my Springtime series. I hope you love them as much as I do!
