Easter Basket by Sue Way

My sewing journey continues. This week I made a little Easter basket for our youngest granddaughter. Its just the right size for a three year old to play with but will also hold a few Easter treats for her to open. I followed a video tutorial I found online for this, and found it a lot easier this time. I went a bit wrong when I decided to add my own band at the bottom, as I wanted to add a coordinating fabric, but I worked out where I had gone wrong and calmly put it right. I am really happy with how it turned out. Now on to the next project. Here are 2 more designs in my Springtime series. I hope you like them.

Friends by Vicki Avcin

We had fabulous neighbours when we lived in Hervey Bay and not only do we miss them as neighbours but good friends also. Things have been tough for them last year with the illness and loss of Kyms beautiful old girl Bella. Bella lived out her days with her foal, well she was all grown up, but Mum and daughter had the life and were spoilt rotten. Bella had to cross the Rainbow Bridge in September last year and it broke Kyms heart. Then just before Christmas she found out that their pup had leukaemia and couldnt be treated. Abbie was supposed to be her forever pup but sadly at 3 years old she too went to join Bella across the Rainbow Bridge. Again heartbreak and I wanted to be able to do something that Kym had lasting memories of them both so I did up lovely poems for both of them, emailed them through and she got them printed out and framed. She loved them and they will proudly be displayed in the lounge. I have done many more for people whove lost their furbabies and as much as I love doing them for someone, they love receiving them.

This week are two more of my cute Easter Gnomes

Folk Art by Janice McFarlane

Ive always wanted to have a go at this style of painting, I have dabbled in a bit of One Stroke painting Donna Dewberry style but did struggle a bit beign left handed. I do paint in acrylics anyway when I get the opportunity amongst all the other crafts I do, but I really wanted to have a go at Folk Art. Ive always loved the decorative canal longboats and the watering cans etc., which are beautifully and simplistically painted with flowers and butterflies lace and more All painted with specific strokes. So as a birthday treat, I enrolled on an online course for beginners, which is 12 weeks long, but can be completed in any amount of time. So far, Ive done a Hinderloopen flower, daisies, and lace and thoroughly enjoyed doing it. There is an assignment to submit each week, which is based on the tutorial for that week. No marks just positive feedback and how to improve. The course is called Progress not Perfection, and you dont have to be able to paint at all. Im so glad I started on this journey.

... recently had lovely day with our youngest grandchildren. After having a lovely time using some of my crafty stash (they particularly like using my craft punches and stencils!) and having cleared my pantry of treats! lol we went to a new park Id discovered on one of my many walks. As you can see they loved it there and we had a fabulous time before taking them home, happy and tired out! lol Below are 2 of my Double Tri Shutter Card Kits .... theres lots more to choose from too! lol

Scruffy by Tina Fitch

This little lady turned up on my feeding patch this week, she looked a little worse for wear but moved pretty quickly when I got up to the fence with the snacks Once I put them over the fence she moved very gingerly to get some. I normally stand on my ladder to watch but I had to get down due to her being scared..I dont like them to be scared its not good to see however they soon come for the food if you just move a little way back.Im now waiting on the new cubs to visit which wont be long I hope

Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas by Silvia Griffin

Doing well after my Hip-replacement surgery. I am playing tour guide for some friends from Austria. Luckily the husband is a strapping fellow and has no trouble pushing me around in the wheelchair. These Hotels in Vegas are just too big to walk with a walker. The Venetian is my favorite hotel and casino. It has a river going through it and for a fee you can go on a Gondola ride.At St. Marks square they offer singing performances once a hour. Also recomend the Red Rock Canyon right outside Vegas and Valley of Fire State Park.
