Golden Egg Hunt by Janice McFarlane

Last weekend at the RAF camp wheremy daughter lives, the Station Commander hosted the annual Easter Egg hunt in his large back garden. Its great fun for the children rummaging round for all of the eggs. There was one special egg they needed to find which was golden. As the afternoon went on all the eggs were found except the golden on, so the hunt continued, when everyone thought all was lost and were about to give up, my grandson Harry dived into the large Pampas grass and found the golden egg. He was so pleased, but that was not the end; because he had found the golden egg he won the main prize of a giant Easter egg. He was one very happy Easter Bunny.

Cute Visitors... by Clare Walker

It all started two or three weeks ago. A robin landed on our window box. For the first time in the (almost 25) years I have lived here.I had a vague childhood memory that they enjoy eating cheese. This proved to be both true and not true. For the record, as long as the pieces are small enough, they do not just enjoy cheddar cheese: they seem to adore it. So much so that we are now feeding *three* robins it seems. Though they seem to need it less now that the weather is finally a little warmer. And they are soooo cute that it`s a pleasure, as this picture that my husband managed to get, clearly shows.

These items have a much more spring summery feel than our cute feathered visitors...

My latest sewing make by Sue Way

I have just made my first book pillow for my oldest granddaughter Jessica. She chose the fabric and has already put her books in to take home. It took me a while to cut out all the pieces, but am happy with how it turned out. Her sister Imogen has already picked out the fabric for hers, so I will make that this weekend. They are both avid readers, so its a great gift for them. The girls are also moving into new bedrooms in the next few weeks, so I hope these will be a nice addition, although with the little handle on the top they can easily be taken from room to room.

Im Impressed by Vicki Avcin

When we brought our car about 12 months ago, the headlights were dull and cloudy. We purchased a kit that was supposed to clean them and bring them back to new. Every day for 3 days I spent ages gently sanding them with the sandpaper that was given, putting on the polish and polishing as per instructions. I had some success and they did come up a lot better. But the headlights still were far from looking new and it was really starting to bug me. So last week on Market Place (FB) I saw an ad for headlight resoration. The before and after photos looked amazing so I contacted the place. Yesterday the man came out and within an hour hed finished. Well I was absolutely gobsmacked at the difference when hed finished. They looked brand new and sparkling! Im just over the moon with how they look now and Im going to get him back to do the grand daughters car as wed tried polishing those too but with limited success.

Away! by Amanda Assenbruck

We have been away for 3 weeks, a lovely trip to Victoria was had. It is something we had planned for 2020 then covid intervened so was high time to tick it off our bucket list, though i am sure we will visit again sometime. My news pic is of a model Tudor village in one of Melbournes parks, it was given by the people of Lambeth to thank Victorians for sending food to them during the food shortages following WWII. With school holidays now over it is time to get back to designing, and of course i have plenty of holiday snaps for inspiration!
