Experimenting with new cooking methods... by JANICE SHEHAN

I have been watching cooking and technique shows on my new ROKU channel. They also give some of the recipes too. I especially enjoy learning how to pair wine, use knives and the very best ingredients from around the world. For example after a month of research using the suggestions from the American Culinary Institute, I found the best olive oils to be from Greece and Italy. Mediterranean cooking has been my new focus with lots of vegetables using my new knives. One of my favorite recipes is Greek Watermelon Salad!

I found some new artists whose artwork I just love. Using these graphics in all my new work. Thanks for looking.

Saturdaze by Vicki Avcin

Last Saturday Mondaze Media held another car show up at the local shopping centre. Called Saturdaze Big Day Out it was put on to raise money for the local Mens Shed. Classic, vintage, and late model cars along with motorbikes, trucks, off road vehicles was a fantastic mix of some expensive pieces of machinery. This show had I think the most motorbikes in one of these shows Ive seen for a while. Car shows are a regular thing around here with one being held at a minimum once a month. The work that goes into the cars is amazing. Did your work out the name? Saturdaze/Saturdays lol

This week are 2 sets of inserts. One set could be used for anything and the other is a Christmas set. Just print them and attach to the inside of your card…. Or you could print direct to the inside of your card if using white cardstock.

My … by Carol Clarke

Youngest son was competing at an athletics meeting again last weekend. This time he was competing as part of the Mansfield Harriers team, and the meeting was in Boston. His two children (my youngest grandchildren) and I also went with him for the day out. Luckily it was a really lovely sunny day, although the sea breeze was rather chilly. Wed taken deckchairs and lots of picnic provisions, which was just as well as it was a rather long day. As two of my older grandchildren live in Boston wed arranged for them and their mum, my daughter in law to meet us there (my oldest son works all over the world and was in Australia that weekend! lol) Sooo we all had a lovely day out together and we were able to cheer my youngest son on in his races .... All of which he won for the team!! Below are two of my Rocking Basket Kits ... There are lots more to choose from too! lol

Not Birthday but Birthweek by Janice McFarlane

As I wrote last week about Harrys fashion choices for his party which was earlier than the big day, and was actually on Tuesday 30th May. The family had gone away on a weeks break up to the north east where my son in laws parents live. So Harrys birthday celebrations started again on the Saturday with a visit for the family to Lightwater Valley in Yorkshire. It was a lovely sunny Bank Holiday so a request was made to go to the beach at Redcar, where they had fun being buried in the sand and even went in the sea, although according to my daughter it was freezing. When the big day arrived he enjoyed opening his presents. He loves Mine raft, Super Mario and Pokémon. When I spoke to him he said they were going to a trampoline park then McDonalds where he said that now he had turned 6 he would be allowed a Sprite drink. Not that he wasnt allowed before he just never asked for one. Then back to his other grandparents for cake. Wednesday the day after he wanted a proper grow up haircut so off to the barbers they went. Harry does make me smile, he Definately has an old head on young shoulders.

Early Birthday Present! by Sue Way

The sewing machine Ive had my eye on for months had a discount. I was going to have it for my Birthday, but rather than miss the offer, hubby said buy it now! I didnt need telling twice and it arrived the next day. I wasted no time in setting it up and now I am deciding what my first make on it should be. It has so many more features than my current, very old, machine that it will take a bit of practice, but will be so much better to use. Watch this space for my first creations on it.
