Good Grief... by JANICE SHEHAN

My friend just told me that there have been more sightings in Las Vegas for aliens. This sounds like a Harkles type of news. Wow some people will believe anything! She told me to lock my doors; IF there are aliens, AND IF they can fly here, they can get the door(s) open :) I hope I dont offend anyone, but I just dont believe in aliens. I would sooner believe a car chase in New York City.

Your Biggest Fan by Janice McFarlane

Phew what a week heat wise. I personally dont like it too hot because of medical reasons and how it affects me, so I have multiple fans on, front and back doors open and a neck fan. I know, I know we complain when its hot and sunny and when its too cold, but I would rather be cold than Hot. What made me laugh this week was the photo my daughter sent me when they got their fans out of the loft. They have one of the large bladeless fans and as soon as they switched it on, Roxy their 13 year old Staffie had other ideas and decided to hog the fan instead. Of course as we all do with our beloved pets they usually get priority.

Dad and Daughter by Tina Fitch

Here is Dad and Daughter cub. Coming for their daily feast. Shes the only cub that ventures out on a regular basis there is another two at least but Ive only spotted them twice. He the dad shows no fear of me at all I can actually reach out to him but I dont as I think there really is no need for human touch from me. The little one just looks at me and is quite shy at the moment and if dad moves she goes too. Its been so hot here daily for the last week so they dont venture down till late afternoon and for some unknown reason they are all starving . Ill keep you updated with my new family of cubs as soon as anymore come to visit

Oh Winter! by Amanda Assenbruck

It really is winter here. I think we have had 18 frosts in a row. This morning the coldest at -4 Celsius. There are only a few small patches of green grass left for the wallabies and our plants are very unhappy! This is one of our new pine trees, as you can see it is not at all happy with the weather.

A few of this years Christmas offerings. I love the little mice I have featured on the single page designs!

Another Doll for the Library by Patricia Platt

I thought that since this is an important year for the Library and King Charles had his coronation that I would do a King Charles doll for the librarys celebration. I have him reading a book in all his finery. It has been a bit of a week at Dialysis and I really enjoyed coming home to work on my card designs and crocheting on the dolls. I just wish I had more hands and I could do both at the same time.

My ... by Carol Clarke

... youngest son was once again running at an athletics competition this weekend. He got the gold medal for both of his races, the 800 and the 1500. We also had a lovely time whilst he was running too! Firstly my youngest granddaughter, Olivia, loves to cook (especially cakes! lol) and Ive been teaching her a few of my recipes. It was my oldest granddaughter Ninas birthday and Olivia asked if we could make her a cake. Sooo we quickly made, baked, iced, decorated and wrapped one of them! But ... we hadnt got any candles! Well its a good job Ive got lots of crafty stash!! Firstly I drew a candle template on some scrap paper to see if I could quickly fashion a 3D candle. turns out I could! So next I drew the candle again and Olivia coloured it and helped me assemble it into a 3D candle shape. We were even able to put it in the cupcake before gift wrapping it! Olivia proudly and carefully carried it the few streets to where Nina lives and presented it to her eldest cousin! Needless to say Nina loved it! And we all loved the rest of the cupcakes that Olivia decorated on our return!! Apart from cooking and eating the cupcakes we did some paper crafting (well of course we did!) played in the garden, had ice creams (of course!), a picnic in the garden, and had fun blowing bubbles. We even had a competition to see who could blow the biggest! lol

Shopping Day by Vicki Avcin

On Monday my daughter came over and took hubby and myself over to Ikea. I have been trying to work out what cabinetry for the pantry and now that its ready to be painted next job will be to fit it out. I had ideas for what I thought I wanted which was pretty basic but she said I should look at different brands, so off we went. Well I saw so many variations on things Im back to square one now. I didnt want any cupboard units preferring all drawers which wouldve been just 2 drawer units but I found what appeared to be 2 drawer units but they had a couple of hidden smaller drawers inside so that one could have cutlery in inner top drawer, serviettes etc in the second inner top drawer with plates in racks in the main part of the drawer and then the bottom drawer with serving trays/bowls etc. Trouble is Ikea drawers are different widths to what I had planned so its back to the drawing board to work out what will fit where now. They didnt have the corner pantry I wanted but I liked their straight pantry so now have to work out if could make that work. Was great looking through the whole place but boy of boy…..its a lot of walking. When we finished we went to the cafeteria for lunch where hubby and I had the Swedish tradition of meatballs and mash. On the side there was this red jam looking thing that was so delicious I cleaned up the rest that hubby left on his plate. Ive since found out it was Ligonberry jam. I sure will be looking to see if it is sold here.

Happy Birthday to Me! by Sue Way

Last friday was my birthday. Unfortunately I wasnt very well, but my family still spolit me. Hubby had already bought me a new sewing maching and some trainers, but on the day he surprised me with all my favourite things. A beautiful bouquet of bright summery flowers, strawberries, chocolates and my favoourite shortbread biscuits. My son sent me a bottle of crystal head vodka, my daughter gave me another beautiful bouquet of flowers, and the most thoughtful gift of a length of fabric for my sewing projects. I also received lots of gift vouchers so I can have a good old spend up!
