Ready for the Snow by Vicki Avcin

My big adventure which will include going to the snowfields of Thredbo in August meant getting the appropriate gear. As Ive never been anywhere near snow before I had already bought snow pants, boots, gloves and neck wrap. I already had a big jacket that I was going to wear but my grand daughter and her partner gave me a gift card for my birthday so I decided to go all out and purchase a snow jacket to go with the pants I had. I was also able to get snow socks as well so now Im all set and raring to go. As I wont be actually skiing (I dont think Im game enough) I wasnt going to worry about the jacket but hey one has to look the part dont they! I tried it on for the photo. I reckon it looks pretty cool so might be a lever to get hubby to go on a holiday down there again if I like it. Im a bit worried about how cold it will be because I hate the cold and temps this week have been round minus 7 overnight and minus 2 during the day with winds up over 30 – 60 kph as the snow season kicks off. Snow is falling daily now and it looks magical and Im in awe as I watch the snow cams.

This week my designs are just two of six new perfume designs.

Low Approach by Tina Fitch

Heres one of the 492nd FS. Madhatters. Low approach over RAF Lakenheath on Wednesday. We havent been in over a week due to bad weather. Cant take a decent photo in wet weather I like the sunshine and a bit of light in the subject. The weather was glorious on Wednesday, it was very warm indeed and the 48th Fighter Wing didnt disappoint, this one did two low approaches over the airfield before coming into land. I just love this stance of the jet!

Progress not Perfection by Janice McFarlane

For the last 6 months I have embarked on a beginners masterclass in Folk Art Painting. If you have ever seen the beautiful canal boats all painted with flowers or pots, watering cans etc painted with a specific stylised art that is folk Art. It was a twelve week course which you purchase and along with it you get a beautiful work book paints and access to video tutorials. The course doesnt have to be completed within twelve weeks, you can go at your own pace. At the end of each module there is an assignment to submit. The beauty of this course is not about perfection but how you progress as a person in ability. Now I do have some painting experience, but most on the course had never painted a stroke in their lives and after a couple of week were painting beautiful daisies or the hindeloopen flowers. The tutors are always ready to give advice and feedback from assignments are never negative. It was truly a delightful course and I am so glad I did it and on completion you get a very pretty certificate of completion painted with pivot stroke flowers and butterflies which is one of the modules towards the end of the course. I do hope to to the intermediate course in the future.

We ... by Carol Clarke

... had the pleasure of having our youngest grandchildren for the day again last weekend whilst their Mummy was working and their Daddy, our youngest son, was competing in yet another athletics track event. This time he was running in the 800 and 1500 meters. He once again came back with 2 medals, a gold and silver, but also set a track record too! We had lots of fun too, although Olivia found it harder to join in! She loves all things girly and had dragged her Daddy to a girly shop to buy false nails! As she chose the longest ones she could find she struggled to pick things up and was being super careful to make sure she didnt lose any of them! However she did manage to eat ice cream! What a surprise! lol

Summer Bag by Sue Way

I had a bit of time to do some sewing last week. I wanted to make something nice with the fat quarter pack that I won, as it was so pretty. I spent some time watching lots of YouTube tutorials and decided on a summer bag by Debbie Shaw. I love her channel she makes everything look so easy. Mine didnt end up looking at good as hers, but I am really happy with it and its already had an outing. I am sure this will become my everyday bag for the summer.
