The big day by Patricia Platt

Last Friday was the big day for our Library. They have been going for 10 years now. Our knitting group started a year later. We were asked to contribute some items for display so I did the crocheted dolls. I was given the dolls back and they will be going to a nursery so they will be played with by children.

Two of my latest Notelet kits. I used two of Lionel Designs to make them. Just lovely for Christmas gift giving. There are lots more notelet kit designs on my shop pages.

Moving on Up by Janice McFarlane

Well its finally here. Alfie has had his final day at RAF Benson Primary School. Its quite emotional even though I live a couple of hours away, but the amount of photos and videos his mum sent me of his last two days, I felt I was there in person. Of course his mum was an emotional wreck. Alfie took it all in his stride. On Monday the Year 6 students were treated to a day our 20 pin bowling, laser quest and an all you can eat Chinese meal by the school. And the last day on Tuesday it was the leavers assembly, where certificates were presented and they all received a Class of 23 hoodie from the school. Now on to the next educational venture.

My first zip! by Sue Way

I finally had a bit of spare time to do some sewing last weekend. And as the weather was so horrible I wasnt going to do my planned gardening. I decided to try zips. I wanted to make a little pouch to go in the bag I made a little while ago, as it doesnt have any compartments in it. I have never put one in before, so was a bit nervous. I watched lots of tutorials online, took a deep breath, and got going. And I did it! I sewed my first zip! I only had scraps of the matching fabric left so sewed them together (another first) and cut up an old pillowcase to make the lining. Took me ages and I still cant believe it worked.

My ... by Carol Clarke

... two youngest grandchildren were competing in a mini league competition last weekend in Newark on Trent last weekend. These mini leagues include a number of track and field disciplines including a number of track events plus things like high jump, long jump, javelin and shot putt etc. The weather forecast wasnt too good for the day, but in the end there were only a few spots of rain so it didnt spoil the event too much. Each child gets points for where they come in each event which go towards the overall score for their team, so in the end we werent too sure where they came in each one ... but as we all had a lovely day it didnt really matter! lol

Hollyhocks by Carol Dunne

I have just returned from a great holiday in La Rochelle. France. We had a busy time with so many site seeing places to visit. I think it will be a go back to place. I found the hollyhocks absolutely amazing, they sprout up from every nook and cranny the seeds can germinate in. The annoying thing is that I have tried a few times to grow them and never had much luck. I must try again.

Dad! by Tina Fitch

Dad fox is back to normal now. He seems to be feeding himself more now instead of rally round the 3 cubs. Mum is same now so Im presuming they are finding food themselves now. They come down on their own and scramble for the jam sandwiches lol. The mum had mange so had to treat her and the only way I could get her meds to her was feed jam sandwiches They all eat them and it treats them allTheres a fox charity that sends out medicine for their food. So they have one dose a week. And her fur is now back as it wasWill hopefully get some photos of the cubs but they still hide from me haha
