New post topper! by Sue Way

I was happy to see a new post box topper on our walk this week. It should have been obvious really, but was a nice surprise. Of course, it was Back To School! I hope it makes all the schoolchildren smile on their way to school. The lady who makes these is so talented, and I love how they are current. I wonder what the next one will be? Maybe Halloween?

Off to the Snow we go! by Vicki Avcin

Day 5 of our trip saw us leave Canberra and head off to the snowfields. First stop was Jindabyne to pick up snow chains, skis and snow board. We went through a small town of Cooma and all the shops have snowmen on the roofs. I was excited to see the first sign giving the klms to Thredbo. Was even more excited as we went through the hills and saw for the first time snow on top of the mountains in the distance. Of course Im always on the look out for fire stations and was happy to see the station at Thredbo when we arrived. We went straight to the carpark for the main skiing area and walked out to Friday Flats where I got to walk on snow, see snow for the first time in my life. My daughter asked me what did I think. My comment its like a big slushie and its cold. We didnt have our snow gear on at that stage but decided to walk back to the car and get it on. The kids were itching to get onto the slopes so they caught the chairlift up to do a couple of runs while I stayed just savouring the moment and enjoying watching all the people skiing and snowboarding. I was amazed at the kids, 3 and 4 years old skiing like pros. Friday Flats is the easiest slopes and where all the lessons are done. Then the big moment, we (I) built my very first snowman. Will show the finished product next week. But after the emotional few days before hand I was just so happy to unwind and do something Ive wanted to do all my life……. Actually be in the snow!!

This weeks designs are feature a very pretty Christmas design and a set of 12 gold and silver Christmas inserts to finish off all your Christmas cards. These have been extremely popular with cardmakers.

Basket Case by Janice McFarlane

Last couple of days I have been trying to sort out all of my Yarn bagging up what I didnt need and trying to make storage more efficient for me as I have limited space. Thank goodness for a well know Swedish store and their kallax units and boxes. Whilst doing this I had all my yarn (and there was a lot) piled up on the sofa and storage boxes everywhere. This was no mean feat, especially when my cat Bailey decided to want to sleep on the sofa amongst all the yarn, which wasnt helpful. After playing a game of cat on couch and me lifting him off a few times, Bailey finally took the huff and tipped his toy basket up to curl up in. This was so funny because he had never done this before and I had to quickly dash to take the picture. He certainly is a basket case.

COMMERORATIONS ... SO PROUD OF HIM

by Wanda Lipski

Well, yes I am. This is what a man undergoing chemotherapy can look like .. Bright eyed and bushy tailed. Were one third of the way in and so far so good. My husband may be French but he is so proud to be the official flag bearer for the Lyon branch of the Royal British Legion. Last Friday we were in Vienne where this picture was taken, on Monday at the home of the SAS at Sennecy the Grand. As you can see, I am faithful to our dearly departed queen and wear a hat!!! Looking after him is time consuming (he is eating like a horse so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen) but I have a couple of recent additions to share with you. Bless you all.

Our Wisteria by Amanda Assenbruck

Two weeks ago i reported that we were awaiting the buds on the Wisteria to open to see if we would get flowers this year or just leaves. The proof is in the pudding so they say! We now have beautiful flowers everywhere and the smell is glorious. The bees are quite happily buzzing around them too as we dont have much else flowering just yet.
