If a tree falls and no one is there

is there any sound? by Judith Henry

We came home from a meeting and was greeted by a fallen tree. No one was around. Neighbors were not home. The yard just. Looked like we had lots of bushes. The tree had lost a limb. It split the bark and slowly peeled off. It fell on our garden and grotto. No damage just lots of leaves, branches all around. It took the tree service a whole day to remove the debris and tree. Wonder if ther is a way to make this experience into a popup/popdown card?

Time to go Home by Vicki Avcin

The last 3 days of our trip we spent at Thredbo. Although this snow season hasnt been the greatest in the way of snow falls, there was still plenty of snow to tick off the bucket list. I got to make my snow man complete with beanie and heart and it was a great way to keep the drink cool. Our accommodation was excellent and overlooked some of the ski runs which was just awesome to sit out and admire the view. We went to Merrits for lunch on the Saturday which you had to get on the gondola to get too. I waited for the kids as they did several runs before we caught the gondola back down and then got on the chair lift to head up to Eagles Nest for afternoon tea. This is the highest restaurant in Australia and the views were amazing. I loved sitting there with my hot chocolate (even got a free one) while the kids did more skiing. On Saturday night they have a big party in the middle of the village and finished off with a flare run where anyone that wants to can go up and come down the Supertrail holding flares. It was amazing. This was followed by the most spectacular fireworks display Ive seen in a long time. We watched the flare run and the fireworks from out front of our apartment. Then sadly it all comes to an end and we left on Sunday morning to drive 8 hours to Charlestown where we stayed overnight and then drove another 8 hours to home. Was sad to leave Thredbo as I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the people. Its a whole different world up there. Will have to go back again, hopefully it might actually snow next time. It was an absolutely amazing week filled with so much emotion, love, laughter, new experiences and best of all I got to do it with my son and daughter.

This weeks designs are a couple of my new Australian Christmas designs

Growing Wild by Janice McFarlane

Spring and Autumn are my favourite seasons. Spring, because nature blossoms and makes things new and Autumn because of the wonderfully rich colours we get. So the village near where I live has a recreation ground and a small river which eventually expands into a canal further along, but what a wonderful joy to see a beautiful and colourful carpet of naturally growing wild flowers cheering up the recreation area. All perfectly placed and each flower complementing the other. Its beauty like this, that just for a moment takes ones mind off the troubles of the world.

Addicted to Bags! by Sue Way

I have recently made yet another bag. This time I made a little cross-body bag, big enough to fit a phone and glasses in. I used some striped cotton canvas fabric that I won on eBay for the main bag, and for the lining I used a mans shirt that hubby had bought in a charity shop, but it was too big for him. I think I can admit that I am addicted to bag-making! I have joined lots of bag-making groups and am amazed at the wonderful bags they make. I am a long way off of that, but I would love to be that good one day.

Not so tardy by Amanda Assenbruck

I reported last week that our Wisteria bloomed early (and even more so now) which made me take a look at who else has realized that Spring is here only to find that most everyone else is still being tardy though there are plenty of buds out. So far this one lone tree is contributing a bit of colour with its healthy show of leaves and my Daisies are out but thats about it. We are expecting days around the 30 degree Celsius mark over the weekend so surely the rest will wake up properly soon!
