Make no Bones about it! by Janice McFarlane

Last weekend my daughter took the boys on a couple of Halloween events. One was an evening one at Millets Farm and the other one at Waddeson Manor in Aylesbury. Im not a fan of Halloween at all for numerous reasons but my daughter and family always have gone big for the occasion doing all sorts of things. The boys seemed to enjoy the spooky shenanigans especially the skeletons. I did comment that I thought their mum and dad had lost a lot of weight sitting on the bench, which my daughter found really funny. Perhaps my funny bones kicked in.

Grandies….grandma, but I prefer Nanny, and granddaughter enjoy doing things together and stripping a motor and gear box out of a car is something we both enjoyed the other weekend. Grand daughters car decided the gear box didnt want to work in anything other than 2nd gear so it is sitting in our back yard until another gear box can be put in. So Poppy found a car at the auctions that had been involved in a crash but motor and gear box were OK so now the task begins of pulling off all the broken body panels (mainly left guard, bumper), radiator and everything that could be stripped that wont be needed. We got most of it out, just a few more things to undo off the motor to allow it to come out. Once we get all the parts off that we need and her boyfriends car, we will part it out and sell things. (lights, seats etc)We will then transfer the gear box into her car so she can get it back on the road. Nothing like getting the hands dirty having fun with the grand daughter!!

Banff, Canada vacation by Judith Henry

We spent almost a week in Banff. The weather was good and the air brisk. We had on night when it snowed and gave and added dimension to the beautiful mountains. Some of our activities was going on a gondola ride to the top of the mountain. We also went to a glacier where we got to walk around carefully. The food was great and the company lovely.

Vintage CUP News! by Sue Way

I was sorting out my craft room the other day, and came across a page from a CraftsUprint newsletter from 13 years ago! As you can see from my picture, I had captured a lovely picture of my granddaughter Jessica, who was two at the time, and her Golden Retriever Baxter. Jessica was doing some crafting, and Baxter was very intent on what she was doing. CUP set a competition for the best caption of what Baxter may be thinking. I wonder who won?
