Its a Cats Life by Vicki Avcin

I so wish I was a cat, sleep, sleep, eat and sleep. Georgia, aka Meow Meow or Princess Fatbelly sure has it good. So many places to sleep, including our bed, with only the occasional desire to expend any energy by playing with her toys or any thing that might fight back like a piece of packing strapping. Georgia is 13 years old now which equates to 68 human years, so as a senior I guess shes entitled to do as she likes. Different story when its dinner time though, she will follow us around, sit in the middle of the kitchen floor and voices her disgust at the humans taking so long to feed her. Her only other bad trait lately is to act as an alarm clock at 3am so one of us humans will let her out of the bedroom so she can go down to her litter box and have early morning munchies on her kibble. I swear she is getting worse because she used to wait till 4am but now with daylight quite early now its summer it seems she likes to be up to watch the sunrise. Despite everything we love her dearly and are happy to be her slaves.

This weeks designs are two more Cat Christmas designs. This time Ginger and Siamese kitties.

Life by Patricia Platt

Sometimes things in life stop you from doing things you want to do. I thought I would be safe and get a flu jab, well it went down hill from there about 5 weeks ago. I ended up getting quite ill. Not sure if from the jab or from some other virus going around. It wasnt covid thank goodness. But probably just as bad. I had blood work done and chest xray and even a prescription of antibiotics, but nothing seemed to work. Just time and rest. I still have a bit of a cough even now. But I did try to do some designing, and I have a good friend expecting a baby so I wanted to make her some things for her baby girl. I tend to crochet rather quicker than my knitting so I crocheted her a few little things up. I hope you enjoy seeing them. :) And in the meantime Winter is arriving. I still have the garden to tidy up yet. But it has been too wet. Oh well, that is Life.

My winter animal designs are my latest designs there are several different animals and a matching insert available. They are all linked to the Winter Rabbit design.

Trip to Banff by Judith Henry

A week away to see the beautiful mountains, lakes and wild life. And here I found many Stellers jay birds. It was fun looking for different wild life, learning about glaciers, eating wonderful food. Usually I find a popup card to purchase for inspiration. We also went up on a gondola which is not usually something Im comfortable with. It was worth it to see so far up in the mountains.

New Post Box Topper by Sue Way

While out for our afternoon walk last weekend, I was looking out for the new post-box topper. As Halloween was over and it was too late for it to be fireworks night, I had a little guess as to what it might be as I approached. And I was right again! This one is for Remembrance Day, it is beautiful with its wreath of poppies and service men or women saluting. The red poppy is a sign of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. I wonder what the next one will be?

Winter is Coming by Hilary McGourty

In the UK its that time of year again where we need to start wrapping up warm and in our house in particular, comfort foods are craved, especially puddings. So besides designing card kits and crafting another of my loves is cooking and baking and of course eating the end result. I was craving one of my favourite puddings, apple crumble and in the cold months I just love it with custard. So I decided to whip up a couple of crumbles for me and my husband, a traditional plain apple crumble and one with a caramel bottom. No sooner were they out of the oven, two portions got covered with custard and devoured, not both by me I might add! One will definitely have to go in the freezer or well eat the lot over a few days as we cant resist pudding and custard. Looks like Ill be putting in extra steps to compensate for the extra calories Ive just eaten.

90th BIRTHDAY AND A 66th by Wanda Lipski

Ah Birthdays, dont we love them. I just wanted to share with you nearly 13 hours of work in the conception and manufacture of this card that I made for a VERY SPECIAL FRIEND. Chantal was 90 today as I write this, but her daughter organised a surprise friends and family celebration a week ago. She is an extremely accomplished pianist and at 90 is still capable of enchanting us for Liszt, Scriabin, Chopin .... and always the totally unplayable pieces ... but not for her. Today I gave her my best selling Paradise XL card, but I just had to make something really special for her. Those little wicks on the 90 candles were sooo fragile. 3 of them needed discrete reinforcement. As you read this, tomorrow the 11th I will be celebrating my own birthday and the fact that we are surviving chemo and my husband is in a good week to celebrate with me, so DESIGNER DISCOUNT for you all. Stay well, stay happy .

Ive ... by Carol Clarke

... Had a busy few weeks recently with lots and lots of Nana Duties!! Not only was it the half term holidays but also as its cross country season bot my youngest son and his daughter, my youngest granddaughter, have been competing in these races. sooo this has meant lots of cuddles, laughs, baking, crafting and cheering them on in their respective races! lol Last weekend was an inter club cross country event with lots of clubs taking part. Unfortunately it was awful weather and soooo cold and wet too! But at least I was all togged up with waterproofs, walking boots and warm layers whilst they were just in running shorts and t-shirts! They both ran really well but were really happy to change into warm dry clothing! This weekend coming my son has been selected to compete in the 2023 British and Irish Masters International Cross Country Mend over 35 race in Glasgow. Its the first time hes been selected to represent England in an event! To say that I am a very proud mum is rather understating it! lol

Poppy Day by Janice McFarlane

We are at that special and sacred time of the year when we remember all those who served and fought for us. They gave their all so we could be free. Each year I create some Poppy themed items, which I give to my friend who raises money for the Royal British Legion. This year she decided that any funds she makes from items she makes as well as myself is going to a new cafe which has opened near where we live. Its not and ordinary cafe in as much as all profits go to assisting armed force veterans. Its not just a cafe that sells food and drinks it also has a lot of vintage memorabilia as well as gifts related to the armed forces. So its a whole experience and another wonderful way to remember all our heroes. My contributions this year was a hand crocheted Poppy Bag and matching purse, both my own design which will be either sold or raffled to raise funds. With all the madness going on in the world, let us remember to never forget.
