Soldiering On by Janice McFarlane

Last Sunday we respectfully remembered those who gave their all. People gathered round the cenotaphs all over the country in acknowledgment of this. My youngest grandson Harry is a member of Beavers at RAF Benson and he was on parade so to speak to honour this occasion. Harry hadnt been very well all week with a cold and cough, and then the day before developed really dry and sore chapped lips and broke out in hives, but bless him he still wanted to go to the service held at Ewelme Church which is the nearest village to Benson. I thought he looked very smart and was very proud of him for solidering on.

Hes Back! by Tina Fitch

Well my foxy is back. He went away for a while. He had mange pretty badly and Id been treating him with medication from vets. But after a couple of days he just up and left and I thought Id killed him to be honest, but nope he came back and his coat is now in superb condition. Its so thick it will be lovely and warm for him this winter. Sorry I havent been around for a few months. Ive been really caught up with life! I lost my dear sister to cancer in September and it really knocked me for six. I miss her so much but also know shes no longer in pain or suffering Thanks for your continued support

As .... by Carol Clarke

... I mentioned in last weeks mailer my youngest son, Paul, was selected to represent England in the International cross country championships at Glasgow last weekend. Although (as far as I can understand! lol) he only ran in one race he got 2 silvers and 1 gold! He was 2nd overall, 2nd in the over 35s and as part of the England team he got gold too, as overall they came 1st!! We were able to see some of the race online and Im sure he would have heard us shouting for him ... even though he was over 280 miles away! lol Yet again he made the local paper. I have a rather large file with all the newspaper clippings of his races, and now Im starting to get quite a few for his 11 year old daughter Olivia (my youngest granddaughter) who is following in her Daddys footsteps! Paul is competing again this coming weekend, but this time its in a more local race. Well be having his children for the day soooo theyll be lots of crafting, laughing, hot chocolate, ice cream and well be baking cheese scones too! lol

Lovely Fabric! by Sue Way

I havent done much sewing over the last few weeks as I have had that horrible cold thats going around and doesnt seem to want to go! I was trying to make a large bag for work, but I wasnt enjoying it, so I put it all away until I feel more up to the challenge. The other day I had this gorgeous fabric delivered. There is a pretty butterfly cotton and beautiful blue and pink coordinating faux leather. I have ordered some bag hardware to match and I have a bag in mind to make with it, I just want to make sure I am well enough before I start, as I dont want to ruin it. I have had a few of you ask for Christmas A5 quick cards for any last-minute cards. So I have uploaded 5 and they include a topper and matching gift tag. You can leave them as they are or embellish them as much as you want!

Visit by Vicki Avcin

Last week I got to visit my birth mother again. Was definitely a different visit than our first meeting which was pure emotion and very overwhelming for both of us. We have been constantly communicating through phone calls and letters getting to know each other and learning about our lives for the last 70 years. She told me the circumstances about my father and that answered a lot of questions I had. The information was given freely without me even asking. Managed to get a photo of my birth mum and myself and my daughter (her grand daughter), so three generations. I dont think there is any doubt about who my birth mum is.
